That's insane - a set two bearing halves are C$24-34 (+tax) at my local dealer.

Opinions from the wrench masters - Is it practical to replace a con rod bearing in situ, pulling the oil sump for access? Can the stamped numbers on the left web of the crank (for sizing the bearings) be seen, perhaps with a mirror?

Its south africa where im at tell me guys lets say just one journals bearing is shot can i just pollish that journal and change that one bearing i got the righ price its 16$ for each half moon main bearing and 15$ for bigend 80$ headgasket 40$ for steel cambox gasket 45$ for timing chain still waiting for a price on timing chain kit to fix. 2nd and 3rd gear approx 150$ 2nd hand gearbox 80$ the stuff here in sa is heavy overpriced :swear :swear :swear

Check the wear on the crank. If its beyond spec, new bearings (unless oversized) would be a bad investment, unless you're just trying to get down the road? If that is what has your ox in the ditch, run it on three cylinders. If the crank only has minimal surface damage, then put the bearings in and go.

Hi guys so I oppend my engine and all the bearings was shot ended up looking for another finaly got on this month after searching for 6months now I need someone who can calculate the correct bearing sizes can someone here help me paid the bearing in full january month just need someone to help me with the codes then I can go fetch the right ones and close the engine :headbang:
