94 FZR STARTING ISSUES....
TRYING TO START THIS THING FOR A FEW DAYS NOW, WHAT I HAVE CHECKED TO BE IN GOOD WORKING ORDER: CARBURETORS ,STARTER, SOLENOID,FUSES,RELAYS, SWITCHES, AND BRAND NEW BATTERY.NOTHING HAPPENS WHEN TRY TO START THE BIKE, DON'T HEAR THE FUEL PUMP CLICKING, DID TRY A HARD STARTING "BYPASSING THE SWITCH AND STRAIGHT TO STARTER SOLENOID TO STARTER" MOTOR IS CRANKING BUT WON'T TURN OVER... TRY STARTER FLUID AND STILL IT WON'T TURN OVER..ANY SUGGESTIONS IS GREATLY APPRECIATED.
Re: 94 FZR STARTING ISSUES....
are the plugs wet to prove its getting fuel as you mention the pump not clicking? it usually stops clicking once the system is up to pressure
Side stand switch faulty? Do you have a spark when it cranks? How can it crank if its not turning over (both same meaning) is it cranking but not firing?

Re: 94 FZR STARTING ISSUES....
The fuel pump should prime when the ignition is initially switched on if the float bowls are empty.
IIRC the fuel pump relay also controls the safety cut out circuits; sidestand and clutch in switch over ride.
The starter will not operate if the sidestand switch is gummed up/ faulty.
This relay also controls the TCI unit and will prevent ignition.
This may be why there was no ignition when you attempted to bridge the solenoid.
Worth a look anyhow; you seem to have all other bases covered.
This is a 1000 R ?
(Stig posted whilst I was still composing;there is some duplication. )

Re: 94 FZR STARTING ISSUES....
Thank you so very much for the quick reply and advises and yes it is 1000...will try putting new plugs and relay...could it be the Digital Ignitor is bad?? Any idea how to test this unit?
Again thanks
Again thanks
Re: 94 FZR STARTING ISSUES....
Test the pump:
If the pump comes on or the relay clicks when jumpered, and you have no spark, then your TCI is baked.
- Disconnect the pump connector
Wire bLue/Black to +12v; wire Black to GND
Does the pump come on?
- Disconnect the 6-pin connector at the TCI
Jump the bLue / Red wire (lower center) to the Black wire (lower left, facing wires, pins away)
Does the pump come on? Does the relay click?
