Ok So to start it off, How yall doin names chris, Been riding for 2 years, I have a 2006 katana 600, ive pretty much outgrown the bike, been trying to trade/sell it to get somethng bigger. So i found a 90 fzr 1000. Did some research on it. I basicly know all the specs 1003cc motor 5 valves 1 extra on exhaust side for more mid range power. Frame design is base for yzf's n r1s. normal wear on them is supposedly fork seals and rotors. ( if I am wrong correct me please) 145hp stock. So I talked to the guy, he said he'd trade me str8 accross for my kat. Its got 15k miles. vance & hines slip on, and stock everythng else. Runs great. Amazingly reliable bike. Just not the fastest. Went to look at the Fzr, It has a yoshimura exhaust, stage 3 jet kit?, k&n air filter (the intake pipes to the fairings was disconnected) and upside down forks. and that was about it. Body was n great shape, Plastics where nice a few scratchs. Seat was tore tho. has 19k Miles on it. So what i am wanting to know, Is if i am correct on the goods/bads of the bike and is it a good deal for me to trade my kat for that fzr? (saying they both run good)thanks for any thoughts/input/opinions!

Re: possibly aquiring a fzr
IMHO as much as I love fzr's, and would love to get my hands on a 1k, I would stick with the Kat.

Re: possibly aquiring a fzr
Yeah thats what i was leaning twards. I am just kinda bummed on going from a 06 to a 90. thats 16 years diffence. Thats my only issue wth the trade, Do you see anything other than that?
Re: possibly aquiring a fzr
So i want to give it a try, i been trying to sell the kat for over 6 months now. Ive had it as low at 2600. with no takers even at the start of the season. The guy seems pretty cool he is letting me take the bike untill tomorrow evening ride it around for a day get the feel of it. So ima test it out see if we are a match Ill post some better pics later on!
Re: possibly aquiring a fzr
make sure the exup valve is present and the servo works correctly, some burn oil in small amounts as normal. Body panels such as top fairings are becoming rare if you're looking for a good replacement
