Re: carb rebuild.

Hi back again. After replacing the clutch everything is running a lot better apart from in second gear. After doing some research I see slipping in second gear is a common problem but is it an easy fix? I'm pretty mechanically minded just don't want to dive in if its a massive job or not even worth doing at all.

Thanks

just for future reference, you can d'l the 750 and 1000 gen Yam manuals from my place, click the images and it takes you to various info

As for parts, depends on whether you want pattern or OEM stuff..Wemoto for pattern bits but avoid things like fork seals,,,false economy to go pattern. Fowlers in Bristol or Chesterfield Motorcycles (CMC) for OEM
If its not broken it dont need fixing

I'm rebuilding my carbs as well. However I ran into a problem and I can't figure it out. I know the Firing Order for 1987 FZR1000 is 1,3,2,4 from what I have researched. My main concern is are the cylinders numbered 1,2,3,4 from left to right????? I am rebuilding my carburetors and I noticed that somebody had numbered the carbs and I think the person that numbered them got them wrong because they read 1,3,2,4 from left to right on the carbs. (Numbers were written with marker so I don't believe it was like that from the factory). So does this mean 2 of the carbs are in the wrong place?

Thanks
