So I got home yesterday afternoon from work and as I pulled into my driveway my left handle bar snapped. God was definitely on my side as it could have spelled disaster if it happened on the way home. Anyhow, I started taking the handle bar off and thought that I could just replace the pipe piece. Is the pipe and clamp one piece or can the pipe part just be removed and replaced? There is an allen bolt which is on the other end where the clamp is, I removed it but the pipe doesn't budge. I checked my Haynes manual and it shows that the yoke needs to be removed and then the whole clamp & pipe pieces removed as one unit and then it will slip off the forks but I was wondering whether just the pipe could be removed.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Handle Bar issue
The early 'Genesis' models were one-piece, but the '89+ EXUP models had separate clamp and bar. If you have a two-piece that doesn't want to come apart, heat from a heat gun or propane torch should persuade it to relax.
