im sure this has been discussed b4 , but im not sure the best way to find the answer in the search , ..... anyway pretty simple question
will a 1990 fzr1000 swing arm bolt up and work with no mods, onto a 1988 fzr 1000
so i'll have a 88 frame and rear wheel on a 1990 swinger ... will this work>?
thanks
another swingarm question

Gee, thanks George
Not sure how much work was involved or what respective parts were used from each model but FZTED over on EXUP1000 did this mod and made a great job of it too. He's now located in Cyprus and has since sold his bike but he still drops in regularly. Sure he'd help out with details if I PM him
Re: another swingarm question
If I recall the EXUP frame (1989+) is wider than the Genesis frame (1987-88) so you would need to do some work swing arm pivot and/or frame to make them fit.

yup if the old er frame is narrower then the swing arm may need to be thinned down but probably not by too much I used a1WG swinger in an RD frame which is only 220mm wide so it is doable by hand and with a heavy duty alloy welder to mate the bits back.
Aligning for welding is a doddle since the pivot bolt, axle shaft and the dog bone bolt can hold the whole thing rigid why you stitch it back together .
you can see it on:-

STIG thanks for jumping in and pinging the guy who already did this mod that will be of great help.& quit complaining about me volunteering you Lol. if you were useless that would be different story . Thanks again this is what make the board work so well even if we are strapped for cash
