Yeah. That's cover. The exup valve is in there. That can be taken out and serviced. Refer to the pic below. It's numbers 4-17

I can answer this threads author, not that he needs to know the answer any longer considering I bought his FZR in Aug 2011 for $400...
Anyways...
Carbs needed the most thorough cleaning I've ever giving something, but well worth it...got it to fire up nicely.
Anyways, after working on it for weeks, getting all indicators and street legal goods functioning, I took it out for that first test ride!! Awesome ride...for the first 10 minutes...then same issues as described by previous owner.
Long story short, ended up being a crappy crimped connection to alternator had burned up (too much current) and battery wasn't charging. Fixed that and never had an issue again. That bike fired up faster than my fuel injected gixxer...
Anyways...
