ebay clutches?
Has anybody had good luck with ebc clutches on ebay? I'm looking into getting a new clutch, mine came out in various peices and sizes I could do a factory clutch but am looking for a little more grip.
Re: ebay clutches?
A lot of people find OEM is the best bang for the buck. Unless you've seriously uprated your engine, it's also got plenty of capacity. The design flaw of a increased inner-diameter 'modified' plate and a wave-spring is eliminated by simply using a standard mid-pack friction plate. Note that it is this design flaw that causes so much heart-ache for 1k owners.

Re: ebay clutches?
The achilies heal for the 1000 is the lack of oil around the plates, causing the clutch to chatter under load. Theres a mod by factory pro (search their site)where the baskets modified. This makes the cluch alot better for fast get aways. When the plates go bang it usually cracks the fingers on the baskets. i've acquired a basket from the YZF750 which has the steel reinforcing ring around the outer edge. Its alot stronger than the 1000 version but the gear is different so not a straight fit. I've got the basket and gear apart and intend to get the 750 basket rivetted to the 1000 ring gear.
BTW, the EBC clutch sometimes gives probs by creeping when the clutch is pulled. The fix is to remove the extra odd size spacer and replace it with conventional item....and make sure the plates are well soaked overnight before installation...and always use a bike recommended oil as the car stuff has aditives (friction reducers) that make the clutch slip
Hope this helps

Re: ebay clutches?
Not sure about the 1000, but for the 600, I've heard the best route is aftermarket clutch plates with stock springs.
