Siezed engine
I have a 90 FZR 1000 EXUP a today I heard a bearing churp followed by an immediate grinding sound then bamb the engine siezed locking up the rear wheel. The bike rolls in nuetral but in gear is a completly different story. So I am guesing that the crankshaft bearing took a dump, jamming the piston in the cilinder head? Help in need some feedback!!!!!!
Re: Siezed engine
If it's locked up hard, all you can do is start tearing down - you'll need to do that anyway to fix what ever happened. If it's not economical to fix, you need to tear it down to sell off the surviving parts to pay for your repair!
I can't really see a spun journal slamming the piston into the head...

Re: Siezed engine
Does the bike roll in gear with clutch pulled back??
If it doesn't then likelyhood it's gearbox (cos engine will be disengaged). If it DOES, then gearbox is probably good and you're looking at engine fault
