Fuel Reserve Switch

Post by Zandar »

While taking some of the fairings off the bike yesterday to do an HID install (which work brilliantly; maybe I'll do a separate post on them), I found something a bit disconcerting: my switch to go from regular to reserve fuel is not hooked up to anything :tard:

So, anyone have any insight on how to hook it up? I see the (broken off) wire that leads to it, but I want to be sure I'm doing it right. I'm not a very experienced mechanic (read: I can change oil and brake pads on the car, and that's about it).

There should be a sender on the bottom of the tank. Green wire and a black wire. The connection goes there.

I have the wires coming out from the tank, but they're broken off from the switch; I just need to know how they hook up to the switch. I haven't taken a very in-depth look at it, so it might be really simple. Like I said, I'm quite the n00b when it comes to this stuff (especially the electrical stuff).

They normally plug in. The sender being a two wire female plug and the switch being a male.

The sender is #24 in this pic

And the switch itself is #27-30 is this pic.

Thanks! I'll see if I can't get it hooked up.
