When looking at a chain what do i look at to tell if it is worn or not

I just bought a 1992 FZR 600 and the chain seems to be in good condidion but is way too long and has way too much slack. Chain has been tightened as much as possible by moving the rear axle/rim. how much is cheap and whats the reason for selling

Hi all i just got my first 1992 FZR and was wondering if the lower fairings from any FZR work and What the best sprocket set would be i plan on doing a 520 and would like to avoid vortex from what ive read. Any help would be appreciated
