Re: fz600 - does a 140 rear tire have enough clearance
as in chain/brake arm? Tons. not too second guess you, but with a stock swinger? i'm thinking of changing out the rear wheel to a 3.5" gsx katana 600 wheel. guy on WERA said the wheel only requires skimming the sprocket carrier face to align chain. with the fzr400 fr end and a katana rear wheel i c...

Re: FZ1 Shock?
not sure for that little of a raise....do you know how much of a shorter dogbone = greater ride height, then maybe i could do the math and get a rough estimate for what i'd like?haunter wrote:not sure for that little of a raise.....
Re: FZ1 shock
I had the FZXR spring rate ages ago but have lost it took me ages to find it in the first place too FOUND: FZR400 10.0 kg/mm now whats the fzr600 spring rate? if anyone has a factory manual for the 600 the spring rate can be found under specifications (look for detailed shock spec area) thanks all.

how much shorter dog bones for.....
good day, eh.
looks like i will be raising the rear of my track only fzr400.
does anyone know the ratio of shortened dogbone to raised ride height? i.e. - how much do i need to shorten dogbones to get 3/4" - 1" raise in rear ride height?
thanks all.

Re: FZ1 Shock?
hi,
ride height remains the same - excellent info for me thanks.
it looks like it would be fairly simple to build / install some dogbones that would raise the rear.
how much shorter would i make the dogbones to raise the rear about 1/2" to 5/8"? anyone know?

Re: FZ1 shock
good day eh, thx all for the responses. a couple more brain picking questions - what race tech spring rate did you put on the FZ1 shock? i checked with racetech and found the stock FZ1 shock spring rate was 7.6 kg/mm. what spring rate did you install on your shock? and i heard the fzr 600 is a stiff...

Re: FZ1 Shock?
good day, is the bike you did the fz1 shock swap on a 400 or 600? is the 600 shock spring stiffer than the 400 spring? the fz1 shock spring is listed as 7.6kg/mm. does anyone know the shock spring rates for the 400 & 600? it was mentioned a few mm had to be ground off the fzr spring. is this grindin...

good day, hearsay says an FZ1 shock will bolt on without mods. please no hearsay. has anyone actually seen it done with their own eyes? what year was shock? and no mods were req'd ? i know an aftermarket shock is the way to go. that is why i like the idea of no mods...so later if i get my dream wish...
