Re: Speedo not working
took it apart, cable had snapped. Don't know if it was wear 'n tear or whether the speedo gears are stuck, but I'm ordering a new cable and will test properly before installing

Re: Speedo not working
just checked... not loose. Everything seems tight.
what's in that wire/hose? if it's liquid, could it have gone dry over the winter?

Speedo not working
I'm not sure what could be causing this, but the tachometer is working fine. Any ideas what could be causing it? Worked last year, but nothing at all, today. Can't think of anything I would have done that could have caused it to crap out. The tachometer had a loose wire, so I fixed that and now the ...

Slipping clutch
I'm done riding for the season, but I was encountering a regular issue with the bike at the end of the riding season. Every time I would punch it (and hit close to 9000rpm) in either 2nd or 3rd gear, the bike would often drop into neutral or a lower gear. I have no idea why this could be happening. ...

Rear Stand/Spools
Alright, I'm a little lost. I'm trying to store my bike, but just realized there's nowhere for me to put in the spools. I thought it was pretty standard to have somewhere on the rear swingarms to place spools for rear stands... any ideas? Here's the stand I have, and I'm thinking I might have to ret...

Re: What's your MPG ?
surprisingly pleased... got 37mpg on my last take. about 120 miles were cruising, but BAD cruising (lots of stops, and dirt roads)... the rest was all stop-and-go traffic, mostly 2-3mile rides at a time. If I did longer commutes, I could probably get away with 40mpg. Still worse than some new cars, ...

Re: Gas Cap replacement
awesome! thanks for the tip. There's a huge fastener store in my city that i'll hit up on the weekend. The actual plate cap is fine - it's really just the allen bolts that are rusted to shit. I'll polish up the cap and put it all back together. Think i'll put the fairings back on tomorrow too - comp...

Gas Cap replacement
Heyyo, So I have a gas cap with mad-rusty allen-key bolts. I've tried to undo all the allen keys, but it seems like half of them are dummies. I know there's 3-4 to remove the tank cover (did it a while ago) but is there any way to remove all the allen key bolts and replace them with new a pretty one...

Re: best mirrors ?
Are the YZF EMGO mirrors wider?
My main issue with my '91 FZR600 mirrors is that I can't see around my shoulders. I have an ok view of the sides, but nothing behind me, or near behind me.
The rubber boots on the stock mirrors are pooched, too... so i need to replace those, if not more.

Re: What's your MPG ?
I average about 30-35mpg
I'm 230lbs and the bike has about 28,000miles
unfortunately, 80% of my driving is to/from work which is stop-and-go for about 2 miles in city traffic... when I get out on the weekends, every stop sign is followed by 11,000rpm

Re: Carb woes
Hmm... did you ever get this figured out?
I'm having the same problem with mine... lots of hesitation under 4000rpm, even after having the carbs jetted and re-inspected.

Re: FZR600 low-RPM issues
Since he replaced the coils, I'm assuming he checked the plugs. But I'll check them when the sun bothers to show face again

Re: FZR600 low-RPM issues
so it's riding a bit smoother... the coils were replaced. But it seems to have hesitation under 4000rpm, still. If I gently add throttle, it's seems better, but if i try to punch it under 4000, there's severe hesitation. From reading the manual, it sounds as though i might need to adjust the idle sc...
