'96 FZR600 - 56k warning - Lots of pics

It's been a long time since I was on here. I was on FZRarchives before the split in forums. New jobs and traveling have taken all my time. I haven't really been on the bike that much in the last year. I had a shoulder injury that pretty much limits my riding. The last time I rode the bike my shoulde...

Re: Please help me identify this shock!

Could it be a Wilbers shock? They make a decent line of adjustable shocks.

Re: $14 ebay find

I know the 99-02 sprockets wont interchange with anything newer. I accidentally bought a newer one and it was no where near correct.

Re: I can idle my new bike

That idle seems pretty low.

Really dirty carbs, way to much airflow with incorrect jets or timing. I bet the carbs just need to be cleaned and possibly check the floats.

Re: fzr 600. no spark

I thought the Rotor and Pickup control the spark time. The rotor has magnets attached to it that cause a pulse in the pickup, which the CDI converts to spark timing. I had a YZF600 stator for a bit. It worked great until the VR burned it up. Now I have a FZR600 stator in a YZF600 case, had to make n...

The tail makes it look like a cat in heat, not a good thing for a sports bike :thumbsdown

Re: Helmet saved my life

Good to hear you are still alive!

You will most likely have that stiff back for a bit. Go get a message with a happy ending, that'll clear things up

No helmet law here. Most people in my town wear a tank top, shorts, flip flops and no helmet. It just makes no sense at all :thumbsdown

You will only notice a few drops. Make sure to clean the area really good before you seal them back on.

Here ya go:

Down towards the bottom there is a section that talks about checking the combinations of white wires. That is a stator check. You can do that with the stator out of the bike.

You can test the stator by checking it's Ohms. I will look for the link and post it here.

Re: tire width explained

I guess I don't ride enough to tell if it's slow on the turn in. I'm sure it's fast enough to get a ticket :cop: One other thing, I have ridden cruisers for more years than sportbikes. So I'm most likely used to that speed of turning anyways. It all matters on the bike and the rider. An experienced ...
