Re: FZ 750/FZ 1000 wheel swap
Today I finished the cutting and grinding, figured out I would have to lose the centerstand which pains me greatly, but off it went. I'm happy with how it turned out. Also, my friend Chris in Missouri told me about Chaparral Motorsports and they had the Yamaha RR wheel spacer I needed that the local...

Re: FZ 750 Engine teardown with Pics
Darrin, here is the original post. There are a lot of pics and I sent them originally as I took the engine apart and there were bandwidth problems as well. I have all the pics in a PhotoBucket account without any captions. I was just hoping to save time and not have to repost all the pics. All of th...

Re: FZ 750 Engine teardown with Pics
Sweekster,
If you want this removed that's ok, wasn't thinking about the cross post to another site. To repost these from Photobucket will take me quite awhile but I can't do it now. Sorry about the conflict. Thanks, Kevin

Welcome!! It's not everyday that I see another FZ 750/FZR 1000 project. Good luck getting it running. It would be great to hear how you did the FR calipers as well as your fitup of the rear wheel on the 750 swingarm. I just posted today on getting the FZR swingarm and shock to fit. Did you machine t...

Re: FZ 750/FZ 1000 wheel swap
After getting some help from a rider in England who completed the FZR 1000 swingarm swap onto an FZ 750, I gave the swap another try. After a bit of cutting and grinding last night I got the swingarm fit up with the FZR shock and linkage. Here are a few pics: http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk84/...

Steering stem bearing removal
Does anyone have a method of removing the lower tapered bearing and race removal without the special tool bearing puller? Any homegrown method? Thanks...

Re: FZ 750/FZ 1000 wheel swap
Header pipe repair: The V&H supersport header pipe had some rather large dents from being bottomed out at some point. Tried the frozen water trick and it seems to have worked well. Some pics... http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk84/djcrow22/107_4773.jpg http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk84/djcr...

Re: FZ 750/FZ 1000 wheel swap
Working on the front end seeing how things fit. Any ideas on removing the lower steering stem bearing without a bearing puller? Re: FZ 750/FZ 1000 wheel swap
Some progress to report today, I've been trying different combinations of FZ 750 and FZR 1000 swingarms, shocks and linkages and have settled on the stock 750 swingarm and shock. I ended up "machining" the rear caliper bracket and have what is almost a complete setup for the rear FZR 1000 wheel. Som...
