Re: how to: fairing repair, plastic welding for around $15
Ha! thats funny my left fairing ripped off my bike doing like 120, but thankfully it flew into the median so nobody ran over it. I fiberglassed it together until the other day when I lowsided and tore my upper and left fairing up. So Yay plastic welding!

Re: how to: fairing repair, plastic welding for around $15
May I just say that this works way better than fiberglass on plastic!!! I have an upper in about 5 pieces that I soldering iron welded back together. I went to this corner that everyone goes off the road and picked up a few pieces of other peoples fairings that I used as the filler material!!!
Re: Octane
I used to run premium but recently I switched to regular 87 as recommended by the manual. I seem to be getting better gas millage with the 87

Re: Burning oil: should I fix or sell?????
Alright so I ordered a leak down test gauge. Hopefully it will show up sometime soon so I will know what I'm dealing with. But I suppose you're all right I should just wait and fix it. Does anyone know what type of valve spring compressor works best on our bikes?

Burning oil: should I fix or sell?????
So I've been burning oil lately and have gotten it down to worn piston rings or valve guide seals, either way gonna cost me over 500 bucks. So my question is should I sell it and if so how much could I sell a bike that burns oil for? It has close to 19000 miles and drives fine around town but if you...

Re: Rebuilding YZF Master Cylinders
I bought and refurbished a yzf master not too long ago. It's relatively easy look the diagram of it on bikebandit.com so you know what your dealing with, but Just take the rubber boot off the masters piston (the part the break lever pushes in) remove the snap ring and take everything out down to the...

Compression and leakdown tests: info needed
I have been having some oil burning issues lately and was wondering if any of you wrenches could do a quick how to write up on a compression test and a leakdown test. I understand basically how to do it, but was wondering about the fzr specifics like how to kill the ingnition for compression or how ...

Re: Oil in Exhuast!!!
Definitely. You don't need synthetic on these older bikes... the only difference between synthetic is it's ability to withstand shear better, and last longer between changes, which makes no difference if you change your oil on a regular basis. Synthetic will also get past old seals that weren't des...

Re: Oil in Exhuast!!!
So what could have caused this problem? I have had the bike for over a year with no loss of oil. The burning of oil seemed to start happening after the last oil change. I did happen to change from semi-synthetic to full synthetic. Could that have done anything? I'm pretty religious about changing th...

Re: Oil in Exhuast!!!
Ouch... I hope its my valve guide seals. So to replace the piston rings do you need to get the cylinders honed? I suppose if i'm going that far the extra 80 would be worth it.

Re: Oil in Exhuast!!!
Thanks for the responses. I guess I'll check the headers first. Reelrazor by valve guide seals do you mean number 7 on the valve page 7: SEAL, VALVE STEM,(5NG1) http://www.bikebandit.com/houseofmotorcycles/yamaha-motorcycle-fzr600h-1996/o/m7220 And what "special" tools would I need? One of those nea...
