Welcome to the board. The J-tubes are overflows. The connector blocks were inside the frame on my bike. I found it easier to feed the rubber through the frame while the harness was in place, rather than try to feed the harness through the rubber while it was in the frame...YMMV. I prefer the two cab...

I would recommend heat and peel for removing textured paint. If it isn't gripping well, then it should come off easier than a vinyl sticker.

I wouldn't make this decision without a compression check. Are you burning oil or just leaking it? How big of a winter project do you want? If you eliminate the entertainment factor, I would say it is cheaper to buy a new bike than to perform full upgrade; but doing the work will keep you off the st...

I think changing the engine would be cheaper (and faster) than fixing what you've got. The only problem is finding an engine close to home.

Yes, you can change the springs on the bike. If you have already changed the fork oil and cleaned your forks, then I can't think of any reason not to swap them while the forks are in the triple trees.
