Re: 89' fzr/yzf hybrid Donated....

I cant understand why if you wanted to let rip at mega speeds why you didnt build a race bike and buy a cheep van for the road. We have accident compensation corperation(government owned income and hospital cover) trying to lift registration costs in New Zealand from $350 per year to $900 per year b...

Re: Carbi Jetting

Not doable!! You have to have the same size jets on all carbs... Not true..for example...the FZR 1k comes stock this way (I'm running FP Stage 1 which is 130 on the outters and 127.5 on the inners-Stock is 122.5 and 125 if I recall). The theory from what I have read is it helps with cooling and my ...

Re: Last round done & dusted

Hmm Ive had talks at lenth with my tuner, & he wont let me remove the exup for that reson. Its not that big of a hp gain, & you lose the torque. So he said keep it on. I have to agree, all the guys that have removed have all complaned about what a change it makes & mostly not for the better. Yeh I ...

You wouldnt want to be here at the moment.Martin Pecks gsxr1255 just dynoed at 200hp plus change on the rear wheel.Sneeky bugger jumped 3.6seconds off his pb in one event then overshot a corner.LOL My FZR will be at the lower end of hp scale but at the top end of handling. Should be fun next year. ...

Re: building bearing issues

The mighty fzr had cracked sleeve also

Mossy motorcycle faults.
Latest cracked sleeve extended below the piston so likely main cause of smoke.
1040 kit
valve guides
all big ends worn
head work
cam chain
primary chain stretched

gearbox is ok though

Re: building bearing issues

Not sure about the 1K, but the 600 has a group of numbers cast into the outside of the crank case that is used to determine what size bearings. You do it by taking the numbers from the case and subtracting the numbers from the crank / rods. But these may be a little off now if the crank and rods ha...

Re: Winter series finished

Thanks guys. The rebuild continues and its a sad motor.Big end and conrod bearing shells etc are all toast and primary chain stretched. Having trouble with the bearing colour codes as the painted shell colours are missing.Bum crank and cases and worked out the shells needed 3 x green, 1 x black, 1 x...

Re: Mossy robbed again

It was my work van that got cleaned out.if it was the garage I would be on a 24/7 find and destroy mission and some punk would end up in a pool of his own blood.Garage has alarm etc but I dont like the thought of putting tools in it because thieves will go searching for them if the van is empty. Im ...
