Re: New bike
It most certainly is a WR250x. I was originally going to the DRZ400sm. Then one night, as I was about to fall asleep I just started thinking about the WR. I coudln't get it out of my head. I jumped out of bad and started looking up stats and doing comparisons and checking out mods and all sorts of c...

I picked it up on the 10th. I've put a little over 700 miles on it so far. The dealers in my area wouldn't let thes...

Re: Got a metal something stuck in my tire.
I think the dealers don't patch just to cover their asses and I'm sure they don't mind selling you a new tire because of it. The place I take my MC wheels to usually starts to tell me that they can't do MC tires, but there's a guy there that knows how to go about it. I do notice that when they're pu...

Craigslist bike rental
I haven't used my bike for a few weeks now. Actually, I'm considering selling the FZR. More on that in a later post. I was searching through craigslist, mostly to see what FZRs were going for in my area, and I came across a post that reads as follows: Looking to rent a sportbike - $100 (San Diego) I...

Re: Got a metal something stuck in my tire.
Any small automotive tire shops in your area? There's a place by me that I go to that sell used tires for cars. I take in my wheels and new tires and they pop off the old ones and slip on the new ones for a total of about $20. Sometimes they do it for free. I had them put on a new tire and a couple ...

Re: Intermitant engine death
Update. I replaced the headlight fuse and then went through and cleaned all the dust and road grime out of all the main connectors. I am now almost possitive though that my problem wasn't caused by an electrical problem but instead by a fuel problem. My intermitant engine death has only presented it...

Re: What's your MPG ?
Just got 37MPG this last tank. 17,xxx miles. Mods listed below. 200lbs. That's riding about 75 on the freeway. Sometimes I go 90 or more, but mostly I stick to 75. Rarely do I get to the twisties. Sure would love to get somewhere around 50MPG. I'm planning on getting a DRZ400SM soonish. That'll be ...

Re: FZ1 shock
Head on over to an FZ1 forum to find one for really cheap. I think I paid around $90 for mine a couple of years ago. I hear the '08 R6 shock is a better choice. All you really need for that setup is a set up dogbones. I think I've seen a shock and dogbones sold as a set for the FZR on ebay several t...

Re: Intermitant engine death
They're fairly new bulbs. Stock wattage. Not HID. Do you mean for me to clean the connector that plugs into the bulbs? I should get another 20A fuse while I'm out. I think I'll still check the pins in the CDI connector. Only because I was riding it around for a month with no problems so I don't thin...

Re: Intermitant engine death
Just a quick note: I ripped my EXUP servo off and have never had a problem with the bike running properly. It must be something else. I have the same EXUP CDI - it just doesn't have anything plugged in on the servo side. Did you pull the servo connector off the CDI or did you leave it connected but...

Intermitant engine death
A little bit of possibly irrelevant info. A couple of months ago I thought I could get away with unplugging and removing the EXUP servo on my Cali model bike. I no longer have the stock exhaust so the thing just kinda sits there buzzing for no reason and taking up space and weight. Bike idled with i...

Re: Stock Fork Springs
Since I rarely watch TV I can't be sure if Audi has those "Vorsprung durch Technik" ads here in the states. I had to do a little bit of searching to even know what the hell you were talking about. YG, might you be a Mighty Boosh fan? Not saying that was a similar joke to what you'd find in that show...

Some sort of spring powered cannon was the first thing that came to mind.

Re: Stock Fork Springs
Okay, mine looked exactly like yours. Like I said, not sure it they were stock or not. I'm inclined to think they're stock. I'm pretty sure most bikes come stock with progressive rate springs because it accomodates the needs of a greater number of riders.
