I have been offered a rear shock from an 87' FZR1000 (2RG) which i know is in real good condition. Does anybody know if this shock will fit my bike or do I need to continue my quest fo...

Re: DOGBONES DONT FIT??????
unable to upload pics at min i'm afraid. If you imagine looking at the dogbones whilst stood at the side of the bike, remove the bolts then lift the rear of the bike upwards, it drops the rear wheel and shortens the gap between the bolt holes.I made mine 127mm hole centre to hole centre as in wiki, ...

DOGBONES DONT FIT??????
Hi I made a set of dogbones to the dimensions listed in the wiki and tried to fit them tonight, but when I removed the original ones and lowered the back wheel, the swing arm hit the rear spring way before it was low enough to fit the new dogbones. The original dogbones also had 1WG stamped in them ...

Re: NOW ITS SLIPPING
I looked at the plates when it was in bits and they were within the spec listed in the manual, and steel plates didn't look warn either. I have been told that if the clutch plates have been replaced before with some cheap ones, that could cause it, but i never remember it being this bad before it wa...

Re: NOW ITS SLIPPING
good one, but surely the biting point should be around half way instead of at the end??WNY ROGO wrote:Let it warm up.
The slightest touch on the lever causes it to slip even when warm

NOW ITS SLIPPING
aside from the rattle i have when the bike is running, the clutch is now slipping when its cold and the biting point is now right at the end of travel of the clutch lever. I have adjusted the clutch at the engine end and readjusted the free play at the lever but its still the same. Any ideas? :heads...
Re: MIRRORS
While I agree the stock mirrors are crap. I would ask him (not in a way that he thinks you're being an ass) why you have to when those are stock from the factory. Because i am 6'4", 18 stone and all i can see in my mirrors is me. i need to be able to see whats going on behind me as part of the course
Re: MIRRORS
thanks sweekster, the ebay search begins!
MIRRORS
I have just done my first assesment on my advanced riding course and the instructor said if I want to pass, I need extensions for my mirrors so i can see behind me properly (amongst other things). I just wondered if anyone knew of mirrors from another bike that had longer arms that would fit straigh...

I GOT A RATTLE!!!!
Hi all, Finally got my 1991 FZR600 Genesis back on the road but now I have an annoying rattle coming from the engine when running. If I pull the clutch lever in, the rattle goes, but it can still be heard whilst riding the bike at low revs when ever the clutch lever is released. The biting point on ...

Re: clutch issues
I would start by removing the small cover where the cable attatches to and checking the linkages move ok when you operate the lever, also check the rod that pushes on the basket isn't warn, if all that looks ok then you need to look at the plates and springs in the basket i would say.
Tyres
Hi guys, I have just bought some tyres from my local tyre depot and they gave me a choice of dunlop or bridgestone. I chose the bridgestone because i was told they are duel compound and give me more mileage than the dunlops. I do more touring than fast riding so i bought them. They are bt014. I was ...

Re: Now it wont run!!!!! aaarrrggghhhhh!!!!!!
Hi guys, thanks for all your info, i found the problem earlier today. I thought i'd try and start it again to see if it was a problem when it warmed up or from cold aswell and noticed the fuel pump didn't activate. I removed the tank and found that I hadn't plugged the fuel pump connector in! :swear...
