Re: F/S YZF660 engine
Hadn't given it much thought. Make me an offer.
Some of these parts are quite expensive being new from Yamaha. I probably have a grand into base engine components and the new parts for the build.

F/S YZF660 engine
Any interest in a YZF based 660? I've got all the parts including some very tasty upgrades that I'm no longer going to do anything with. My plan was to build a 660 engined FZR400, but I've completely changed my mind. I have all of the engine parts and electronics. The only missing pieces are the car...

Re: My YZF750R
Well, it has been a while with the YZF750. I had to sell off the Ohlins front end. I'm still not over that. But some times ya got to do what ya got to do. I got tired of the miss-matched body work and my plan was to paint it the entire time. So I finally got around to doing it. I thought I had devel...

Re: My YZF750R
Those Ohlins are amazing :notworthy: soooo tempting..... but I have to be a nagger and say "why not racetech?" it would be just as good, but not as gold..... Simply because they are Ohlins. I don't view the Racetech as being on the same level as these. Don't get me wrong though as the Racetech stuf...

Re: engine swap
The front fairing will swap, but you need the correct windscreen and fairing mount. The problem with dropping an R6 engine into a FZR frame has more to do with the head width and the lack of mounting. The FZR engine uses frame rails to attach the engine (the head is free) while the R6 engine has arm...

Re: Engine problem
Yep, the 4JH pistons and rods will work with the FZR crank. You really need the 4JH piston case as well to make it easier. The FZR600 valve head will bolt up and should work. But the YZF600 valve head will be more efficient as you are basically building a 660 engine. You will also need a 3mm spacer ...

Re: Insurance quotes
Insurance will vary company to company based on were you live, your driving record, and how many they insure near you (including payout). I was with Geico and would check periodically with Progressive to compare rates. Progressive was always $600 more per year. But when Geico jacked up my rate for n...

Re: Need YZF oversize pistons
Don't worry, they have it. The unit is the same for nearly all applications and it is only the wire connectors and program you load onto it that is different. I've used mine to run a yzf engine. They are in the Cezc republic though so the time difference is about 8 - 10 hrs and they always take a wh...

Re: Need YZF oversize pistons
So since the YZF rotor does not fit the FZR crank, what is the solution to this. I don't have an FZR rotor..and which model of ignitech ignition would be suitable for the motor? Go buy a rotor from eBay. That will solve it and they should be fairly cheap. As for the Ignitech, it depends on what set...

Re: Need YZF oversize pistons
the location of the timing mark on the rotor, but you may be able to get one then fabricate a new rotor with the correct timing location. The timing location just means you have to be careful with which generator cover you pick. The issue is the timing PATTERN machined on the OD of the rotor. The F...

Re: Need YZF oversize pistons
Take a look around the Hybrid section and do a search on the 660. You'll find some good info on the build. Hope you ordered the correct FZ6 rods. FZ6 that had the correct rod length and dia was not sold in the US and it was an early model (something around 98-99 I think). As far as the CDI goes. Typ...

No one makes a set for the YZF600. It will be a custom order.

We've seen this one before and talked about it at some length. I love what the guy did and the level he took it to.
Go re-find though.
