Re: Master cylinder upgrade

Ha, just did the same thing. There is no where near the traffic on site as there used to be, but thankfully we have good people that are maintaining it. The remote reservoir can be a challenge to mount. I ended using the handle bar bolt that secures it the clip-on. I replace the factory 8mm socket h...

Re: Rear brake binding and locking wheel

There should be a tiny bleed back hole in the master cylinder reservoir to allow the brake fluid to return to the MC and ease the hydraulic pressure on the pads once braking is no longer called for. If that tiny hole is blocked or obstructed it can contribute to the symptoms you are experiencing.

Re: Clutch Cable replacement issue

If it were me I'd just get the right cable from your dealer. P/N 3HE-26335-01-00 $19.60 at RonAyers.com. Don't monkey around trying to make something work when the part is available. Save that creativity for when you are restoring vintage motorcycles and the part is NLA and the repop market hasn't c...

Re: Need some advice on voltage regulator replacement

Dude change your VR before riding anymore. I'm assuming you have the OE "candy bar" style. Otherwise you run the risk of significant other collateral damages. The VR you posted from Amazon should work.

Re: 91 revs out on its own... PLEASE HELP!!!!!

It's been a minute since I've been in my carbs but did you get the slides in right? What is making the slide rise and introduce more fuel that you have to in turn back the idle screw out for the idle to fall and then readjust to make it idle. With the throttles connected (both) what happens at start...

Re: 91 revs out on its own... PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Josh, is this a new problem for you bike or one that has happened since a recent amount of service? You say the throttle cables are not even presently attached. Is the choke cable? If so is it possible that the choke is engaged/on.? Are you supremely confident you reassembled the carbs and jets prop...

Re: End bar mirrors

When you find some that work please post as I am looking for the same. With yours though could you shim the collet by wrapping some aluminum or copper strapping around them to make up the difference in diameters so that the collets can expand against the inside the clip ons like they are suppose to ...

Re: Fuel Pump Probs

Once you get your sub-harness repaired you can verify your pump is working by disconnecting the discharge line from it to the carb bank and running it into a container as you cycle the iggy switch along with the kill switch to simulate the priming function of the pump at startup.

When cleaning carbs you have to be surgeon thorough as they are precision metering devices.

Re: not enough gas

Pilot jets or float levels come to mind. Read through the carb cleaning/tear down thread at the top of this section. You can do this take your time and make good notes and take pics along the way. You may still need the shop to sync your carbs once you cure the starting issue. Unless you are up to t...

Re: FZR 600 `92 Front wobble

Well, banging out the old wheel bearing and balancing the tire would be first up on my list if that is the case. If you didn't want to replace the bearing your local shop ought to be able to do it reasonably just before they balance the tire. I'm assuming your tires are in reasonable condition.? Aft...
