Not an FZR, but posting by request...
A while back I ditched the stock wheel and slapped in a 1992 Suzuki GS500E rear wheel. http://duncandesignsstudio.com/photoartclub/showoff/gs750e/newrear/130mmtire.JPG http://duncandesignsstudio.com/photoartclub/showoff/gs750e/newrear/GS500Erearwheel1.JPG http://duncandesignsstudio.com/photoartclub/...

Re: Digital speedometers
Not an FZR, but it's an FZR front end...it was simple to mount up. Sensor mounts to the forks and rears off the a magnet placed on the brake rotor. $100 shipped and reads well beyond your bike's ability to move.

More bearing help: 18" FZR rear and 17" Thundercat rear
Can't find the sizes for both listed anywhere...just part numbers. I need ID, OD, and depth.
Thanks!

Re: how bad would it be
If it fits it'll work. Batteries are like people...they all look a little different on the outside but, for the most part, they're all gooey and shit on the inside.

Re: I was asked to post up when I got it together...
I think it has a YZF master...the way I understand things is the FZR had a 1/2" master. I have a 5/8" master on the bars. I've got a slick Brembo 11/16 radial master I might run with, but I'll have to pick up a brake switch for it. Seems a bit odd to put parts on it that are a bit too "trick" though...

Re: I was asked to post up when I got it together...
It's a great little piece. For $100 it does everything I need...motor temp, air temp, accurate tach, accurate speed, and it has the basic warning lights. It looked a bit better on my GS front end because it calmped easily to the handlebar, but I still dig it.

Re: I was asked to post up when I got it together...
Oh yes...my '79 SHowas worked "ok" but they were soft for my tastes. I think if I added another 25mm of preload spacer, some 1kg springs, and 15w or 20w oil they may have come up to my standards, but I also wanted clip-ons and I wanted forks that have a viable aftermarket.

Ok, so 10 miles isn't much, but I'm fighting off a nasty sinus infection and cold so having gone 10 miles, though making my heart and soul feel alive and free, probably set my physical recovery back two days. Anyway... 1981 GS750 with 1991 Yamaha FZR600 forks, triples, wheel, brakes, and clip-ons......

Re: Steering head bearing dimensions?
Oh yeah here ya go... I mean, I doubt it's somethign any of you will ever actually do but still... You WILL have to have new headlight ears. You WILL have to add an 8mm spacer under the lower bearing on the steering stem. There are NO TABS for mounting your gauges. Aside that, even the ignition cyli...

If you're thermostat is working properly it won't run any different with or without the fairings.
