the 400 is actually a riot to ride... Its light as hell and just plain fun. Sure its no 600 or a 1k, however there's nothing like winding Up to14k and just hearing that scream....

Re: FZR600 600 Fairing on 400?
yeah I'm still alive.. Don't have much time for anything lately... Between work, the kids, the fire department I'm lucky to have enough time to sleep... I think I've ridden 5 times this summer total. Its depressing. Every time I clean the garage to get the bike out, something comes up then my wife m...

Need help ASAP.. regarding cams...
Hey guys.. I managed to find a set of .5 over rings on ebay and was in the process of tearing the motor down again to put the old jugs back in with the new rings.. The intake cam wouldn't come out properly then it finally did.. Unfortunately, the part where the timing mark is, well it broke of in th...

Re: Aftermarket Oil Pressure Gauge How-To
It seems that the only obstacle would be finding the right size metric double banjo bolt. And that was the ONLY reason I didn't tap in a double banjo into the mix.. The banjo is an m10.. I found plenty of double banjos that were M10 online however they weren't the specific style I was looking for. ...

Re: Head gasket questions
You shouldn't have to replace it since it's still freshly installed.. Your best bet is to tear it down again and inspect the mating surfaces on the bottom of the head and the top of the cylinder block. Make sure there's no pitting from rust and also make sure that there's no nicks, cuts our gouges i...

Re: Aftermarket Oil Pressure Gauge How-To
Just a little update on the gauge.. and the bike for that matter.. Had an issue with the head gasket leaking but that was due to a little pitting in the mating surface on the top of the block.. Also had a small seep out of the base gasket area as well but that's seemed to have subsided some. I don't...

Re: Aftermarket Oil Pressure Gauge How-To
I'll update with more pics in a couple of days or so.. The gauge is a little erratic right now, but I'm assuming that's because I'm having other issues at the moment since the rebuilt.. There is also a little issue with the connection on the back of the gauge I think as it's jumpy for some odd reaso...

Aftermarket Oil Pressure Gauge How-To
Well, i've been at it again.. I just can't stop doing "different" things.. Last year it was the bike dolly & mounting the 600 motor in the 400 frame.. (mind you that's been done many more times than just me doing it)... This year, I rebuilt the motor as I fried the rings on cylinders #3 & 4... One o...

Re: Engine Job- remove cylinder: How?
As for re-installing the pistons into the cylinders you don't necessarily need a piston ring compressor.. I just rebuilt my 600 motor and it was a little bit of a struggle, but it can be done with 4 hands and a little patience.... When you're putting the motor back together. Rotate it so that piston...
