Re: Calipers question
You have Thunderkitty calipers. The easiest way to tell is the crossover tube. R6/R1 calipers are monoblock and don't have the tube. I have 2000 R6 calipers on my 95 legs which should be the same fork that you have. I would get a set of R6 calipers before I started gring on my fork legs.

Re: FZR600????
YZR600 and the FZR600R frames are aluminium, Your frame is FRZ600 & made of steel. Like I said Japan used the States for testing purposes = We get better bikes LOL2 Um, did you proof read your post at all? :) YZR600 never existed (YZR was two stroke and unobtainable). FZR600 never had an aluminum f...

Re: My FZR600R Foxeye Restoration
R6 swingarm with stretch your wheelbase by at least two inches. If you just ride in a straight line it would be fine, but it will have a noticable impact on you turning. Other than looking cooler I don't think you would gain much.

Re: Motor oils
I use Valvoline Durablend (semi-synthetic) in 5w30 (or 0W30 when I can find it). I am a fair weather rider (rarely below 40 degrees). Even in fair weather though the lighter weight oils flow faster on start up and lubricate better IMO. Lighter oil also causes less drag on the motor. I pay about $2.5...

Re: Front tires
A 120 will fit but will be pinched and you will actually get to use less tire than a stock 110. Expect about a 1/2 inch or more of unused tire on both sides no matter how aggressive you ride. The trade of of course is better tire availablilty. The YZF rim will not fit the FZR forks unmodified. The w...

Re: Quick Clutch Question, How many frictions discs?
The FZR600 has 9 friction and 8 steels. I would worry about swapping on friction for stock. On a off note, I would worry about the stiffer springs. It would be in your best interest to pull the sprocket cover off and check the clutch shaft to make sure it has plenty of lube on it. I recommend lithiu...

Bummer... Those guys (the Dunlop brothers) played hard for a long time before the road finally got them.

Re: can you move the clipons to under the top triple clamp?
You will not hit the frame. The clearance issue is with the gauges and the tubes (assuming you put them right under the triple).

Re: Steering head bearing
The bearings are simple to swap out. The hard part are the races inside the steering head. It is about 30 minutes of work for a mechanic so it might be worth it to have it done by the shop if they will work with you on the price. 22k is not that much for the bearing to be toast IMO. How about just r...

Re: can you move the clipons to under the top triple clamp?
It can be done, but it might hit the gauges on the right side and also I think it will run on the air intake tubes if you still have them in place. On and it really really loads your forearms on anything more than a five minute ride.

Re: jets and tubes
The mains will be marked on the lip. Depending on what brand of jets you have the numbers will be different. Stock is 107.5. You will have to take the carbs off and disassemble them to check the emulsion tubes and the mains.
