Any more 502 sightings? The jump in software versions was pretty substantial, so I would expect more speed. I wonder if there is a newish spam bot out there, that caused the 502 errors to begin with, and the subsequent uptick in spam regs.

Re: 502 Bad Gateway Errors

I would be happy to blame the British for the spam, even if it is more of a Minnesota thing.

Did we have a captcha on registration before? Do we still? Apologies for opening the flood gates. Thanks to everyone for cleaning up after my mess.

Re: 502 Bad Gateway Errors

Okay. The board software and wiki software have been upgraded. To cut out old custom (aka "We don't know WTF it does") cruft, I built up a new copy of the webtree. The basic functionality seems to be working, but I know there is a lot of shit broken. In particular, photos from the gallery are going ...

Re: 502 Bad Gateway Errors

Nothing yet. It's been years since I looked at this code. Trying to squeeze an upgrade into the IRL schedule.

Re: oil

Within 500mi, my Honda turns any oil I feed it into something resembling swamp muck. I'm trying Mobil1 MC oil this time. The GF's bike gets Valvoline White Bottle 10w40. It's automotive, but doesn't have friction reducer junk. She's never had a problem with it, but she should probably switch to synt...

Re: oil

do we know of any cases of FZRs being hurt by Auto oil? I had heard that it was a [bigger] problem with Hondas. Not saying that you shouldn't change out that oil, but isn't it already hosed if it has been in the bike a week?

Re: which battery tender to buy for winter storage?

I've got a Napa unit that resembles the Jr. (it's even green). Works fine for me.

Yeah, 8000. I like to ride. :D

The couple times that I've gone out riding since servicing I haven't ridden it exactly nicely, but I wouldn't call it hard either. More than likely storage is going to be unheated too. I'm just happy that I got it nice and clean before the cold really hit.

Can I get away w/o changing oil this winter?

So judging from the snow and massive amounts of salt on the ground I think it's safe to say that riding season is over for me. Hopefully we get one more warm day so I can winterize bike without freezing my arse off. Problem is, I just did the 8000 mile service on my bike less than a month and 1000 m...

IIRC, fuel pumps are a bit on the pricey side. May want to research that and take it into consideration.

Re: Where iS Everyone ?????????

I've been so busy lately that I couldn't even find time to do 8k mile service on the Honduh. I gave in and *gasp* took it to a shop.
