well, with any kind of paint, you cant put any type of cleaner or degreaser on it... por15 lasts forever and you can spray degreaser on it and everything, without the staining...

not to sound like an AHOLE but its not going to stick or look good unless you..... POR 15 IT!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SvcepMwqmZs you can paint something with por 15 and literaly hit it with a hammer and NO CHIPPING.... at some clearcoating and thats even better... never rust or peal EVER

Just grinding. Not a bad swap to complete. You can do it in a couple days if you had all the parts and stayed on it all day. You will need a shock mount, let me know I can make it for you. you betcha...... im headed to alaska next month to fish for 3 months, when i get back im going to do a COMPLET...

The pivot area is 10". I did the 99-02 R6 swing arm swap. Its pivot area is also about 10". You will be dealing with exactly the same as me. I have a thread on it. thanx for the complements fellas.... i just wanna modernize it somehow... i see r6 swingarms on craigslist all the time for dirt cheap... i just dont know what year swingarm will fit....and if i will need a new wheel, or if i would be able to go wider on the tire...

im still a motorcycle newb..
