Re: Temp guage shows different readings & cooling improvemen
I have both radiators and motors but its the 600 radiator thats installed although the fan isn't mounted because theres no room between it and the cam cover. I know the cooling isn't sufficient at idle but wanted to check here if the gauge is working properly or not so I can replace that and the rad...

Temp guage shows different readings & cooling improvements
When running, it's about half a gauges worth off. For example, it will be around the middle mark while running/idling but if I kill the engine with the key ON, its up near the red. Is this normal or is my gauge done? Since it still works, which is the more accurate temp so I can keep an eye on it? I...

Pods can run great! And just wanted to say thanks!
Contrary to what's been said, pods can run great, take it from this noob wrench! I bought an '89 FZR400 in CA and the PO had swapped in the 600 motor with pods and pipes. It ran OK at first but was lean and overheated. Put in a Factory Pro carb kit and it went very rich, ran like a dog and was even ...

Re: FZR Archives dead again?
Thanks for the info. I have a 400/600 so guess greybike it is. I'll lurk on the other forums too if I need more info.

Re: FZR Archives dead again?
Where do you guys go now? This forum seems so quiet now its kind of sad. I thought people still like these bikes but I've come across just a handful.

Re: Fuel pump issue: help
I don't know what I'm talking about but maybe theres a bad connection somewhere on the way to the fuel pump. Did you go through the troubleshooting steps in the FSM?
Also have to ask, you're sure the petcock is open too?

Re: Shim Sizing?
True, I just wanted them all to be about the same like the EXH were and they cost the same. Bike starts great but runs like an absolute dog for a host of other reasons though.

Re: Shim Sizing?
I just did this as well and know they go up or down 5 ie. 165, 170, 175 which is equivalent to 1.65mm, 170mm... My stock shims were actually in increments of .25 rounded, so 160, 162, 165, 168 which is sort of weird. Hot Cams only go in increments of 5 but I found Pro-X shims from here come in .025 ...

Re: 1WG FZR400 & 3HE FZR600 Parts
Think I may be interested in the parts carb set. Could I get some pics to make sure they're like mine? I need a replacement for one of the bodies.

Re: BDST 32 carb parts
Hmm, looks like I may have to rejet anyway as they are stock and the bike isn't. Guess the parts aren't that rare, I just didn't realize partszilla cross referenced bikes.
Thanks for the offer TomJ but I ordered one since I needed a few other small parts. All is well now.

Re: FZR400 Clutch - first attempt
Thanks, I got the springs since they were cheap enough and will check them next oil change. It just seems that 1-N-2 is particularly "clacky", the rest of the gears seem fine. I sort of have to stomp on it to get into gear so I'm assuming it needs a rebuild or something. It seems better when I rev m...

Re: Throttle
Could someone post a picture of their push cable at the throttle actuator? I bought the Motion Pro cables and it doesn't fit my mount. After some searching on ebay, it looks like there's two types. http://i.imgur.com/VyhQpnE.jpg?2 Those of you with this type of mount, how do your cable ends look/tig...

Re: BDST 32 carb parts
Wow, thank you! Theres no mention of this anywhere. Did Yamaha have Mikuni make the carb because it doesn't look anything like the BDST. Do you also know if the carb float drain screws are also compatible? The Lite Tek site shows the Ducati with a hex head bolt. Anyone have experience with the Facto...
