Re: Vance & Hines PowerPak
You need to flip the #2 Switch for a mild tuned bike Mike... I was going to flip the #2 switch for you but Ella had already sent it out. The part number for it is on the Chip that is fitted, this is also clearly labelled with the model type which I assure you is for a '92. Having checked on CMSNL, I...

...it was a theory... I didn't mean Chernobyl-hot, i meant tepid warm and that there was a resistor (diode) stopping it from getting "too" hot.
I apologise pal, i'm still learning

Re: Raising Compression?
Skimming the head will raise it slightly. Ultimately though, i'd have thought the quickest way to gain HP would be to drop the 750 head and pistons in..?

Re: Clutch/idle problems
k, the clutch cable will probably need adjusting. To do this, slacken the adjuster on the left hand bar completely. take your left fairing off. on the front sprocket cover, there is a big rubber bung, pop that off with a flat head screwdriver. behind that, you'll find a lock nut, and a bolt, undo th...

@willandrip
fuel system appears to be something that is popping up frequently, how about creating a master post with everything you know so that us newbies have a place to read up?

i'm thinking fzr 1000 genesis 87-89. it's the same shape as my 89 Exup, but the fuel tap is older in style.

Re: Looking for missing fairings
There are several on ebay at the moment. Type in "FZR 600".
You can also try ebay.de which throws up alot more parts than the UK site if you're from this side of the pond.

Re: No spark to cylinders 2 or 3. Service Manual?
no spark on 2 and 3 would hint at the coil being dead. One coil provides spark to 1 and 4, the other coil provides spark to 2 and 4. try swapping the coils over, this should highlight any issue with the suspect coil. The service manual's i've seen dont cover this too much, have a look in the archives.

Re: YZF fuel sensor on FZR trouble
from what i've discovered, the sender uses the fuel as a coolant.. therefore if it's not submerged in fuel, or something of equal viscosity/gravity, then it'll get too hot?

just found this little beauty hiding in the US... any tips apart from you know..? Don't set it to anything higher than Tune 3? The coils alone are worth more than the lot! :o http://s22.photobucket.com/user/XFPringle/media/vh%20powerpak.jpg.html http://s22.photobucket.com/user/XFPringle/media/vh%20p...

Re: FZR600 Fuel pump question
okay gents, so far i've managed to swap the relay over from my thou onto her 600, the relay on hers is making my fuel pump prime, and my relay is doing nothing on hers so that's telling me that it's definitely the pump that's the issue, not the relay. I taped up the "scorch hole" on her relay for th...
