Re: Removing Fork Seal 1995 FZR100
I got it! I realised I can use the seal itself. I got some rubber strips to protect the tube where the pry bar (flat head screwdriver) would pivot on and pushed the pry head into the seal. It doesn't matter if I wreck the seal. I then just carefully worked in circles prying the seal a little at a ti...

Removing Fork Seal 1995 FZR100
Hi, I found this thread - http://fzronline.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7809 but as well as not wanting to necro an old thread, it didn't quite cover my issue. The forks on my bike seem to be a little different than those I've found on help threads and videos. In those, they all say to use the outer tu...

Re: Fluctuating Oil Level
An oil change helps prevention. The oil bubbles/froths and prevents the sensor operating as designed. I think in your case, the oil amount was exactly the same prior, during and after the ride out. It just had not settled in the sight glass. Most run the oil higher by a fraction than the upper sight...

Fluctuating Oil Level
This is an odd one. Went for a blast yesterday and after about 40 miles the oil level light came on. Odd as I'd checked it before I set off and it was at the max dot. Pulled over and checked the oil level and sure enough it was only just above the bottom dot, but was above it, just, so I carefully r...

Re: Any idea what these fuel line pipes are?
Update: Yes, djalbin you are correct, my new Haynes manual confirms one is open. The other goes to a second valve under the fuel tank. I never had reason to look under it as UK models don't have such a thing.
Some of the lines run to the carbs so I will leave it all hooked up for now.
Thanks again.

Re: Crash Protection Options for the Bike
The cheaper ones use the fairing mounts and bolts so are only good for stationary roll offs. The rg items use more substantial mounting points but from memory you have to cut panels to allow installation Thanks Stig. Looks like I'm going to be purchasing some well used plastics for when I feel it n...

Crash Protection Options for the Bike
Not that I intend to drop the bike but it's something that happens to the best of us. Can anyone recommend some crash protection options for an FZR1000 ('95)? I've found some nice R&G crash bungs for $75 and some off brand ones on eBay for $20. I'm hoping to find some that fit on the frame as well a...

Re: Any idea what these fuel line pipes are?
("what is this") - looks like the fuel vapor canister on a California model. In the U.S. the California model has a canister that stores the fuel vapors when the engine is not running. The fuel vapors are routed to the combustion chamber to be burned when the engine starts-up. Thanks, I think you'r...

Any idea what these fuel line pipes are?
Hi, I recently purchased a 1995 FZR1000 and I'm trying to find the cause of a small fuel leak, took the seat and tank off and found some items / pipes that I'm not familiar with (please see the photo I linked to). The usual pipes are there such as main fuel pipe from tank, tank breather pipe, air bo...
