I was under the impression that they had a high failure rate. Both the Wiki's at FZRarchives and here indicate to upgrade to a YZF/R6/R1 VRR at all cost. So I was following what I thought was good advice.Evilchicken0 wrote:Why don't you just fit a 1wg / 3he reg rec and have done with it ?

VR/R Confusion
I'm looking at replacing the original voltage regulator on my 1988 3BF, but I'm confused. I've checked out the CPR for the VZR topic in the old archives, but all the years referenced are newer than my bike. There seems to be a ton of voltage regulators available. Is the RM30X01 from RMStator a viabl...

Re: Valve pads...
Thanks for the additional information. The more I have before I start, hopefully the less likelihood that I'll screw something up... well, more than I already have. ^_^

Valve pads...
I tore down my engine and installed new piston rings. 3 were seized on two different pistons. Anyway, I didn't realize there were pads inside the lifters until I opened up the container I had put them in during the reassembly process. The pads have different numbers which I'm presuming means they ar...

Re: Gasket Kit
I ordered the head gasket and cylinder gasket separately because I read they were different than the originals. The ones that came in this kit looked identical in material and shape to the OEM gaskets I purchased. Just in case anybody was wondering.

Re: Anybody try to make a carb joint?
Thanks for the additional information. We'll be putting the engine back together in a couple of weeks and will be purchasing new ones. I don't want to pull the carbs back off after installing them.

Re: Anybody try to make a carb joint?
Thanks. I've also seen where people have been boiling theirs in antifreeze in an attempt to rejuvenate them. I plan on replacing mine, but was curios.

I know they are still available, but that really wasn't the point of the question. I was just curios and wanted to know the results if somebody had.

Anybody try to make a carb joint?
Has anybody tried to make a carb joint, part number 1WG-13597-00-00, out of radiator hose before? It's the rubber that goes between the carb and intake of the engine.
