Oh no! Where do I adjust the cable free play?
Edit: Just kidding I found where I can reach them.

Re: Easy way to bypass EXUP valve?
Thanks for the tips. I decided to just get in there a bit more today and look things over. Here's a video of mine. Does it appear to be operating properly? The top cable seems a bit loose, but is it still moving enough to open fully? MY bike is having issues at low rpm and runs fine at high rpm. So ...

Easy way to bypass EXUP valve?
Hello, I've tuned my carbs and my bike is running better, but still having weird issues when hot and low rpm. In an attempt to diagnose I want to disable the exup valve and see how it runs. Could I just unplug the servo motor? Does the valve stay in the open or closed position when off? Would this c...

Re: Are all fzr1000 ignition coils interchangeable?
Ok cool. I did more research and they have a different part number, but it looks like bike bandit sells the same part for each year, so they must work fine.

Are all fzr1000 ignition coils interchangeable?
I just ordered some ignition coils off a 1988 fzr1000 for my 1994. They look the same aside from being set up differently on the bracket. Will these coils work fine for my 1994?

Re: Lots of repairs...Still terrible low end power
Cool thanks for the info. So since all the melted wires were found in the harness and the bike no longer drains the battery sitting (i.e. nor more shorts) I should be in the clear from the overcharging damage? and I'm guessing the symptom I've had all along then is multiple bad batteries from the or...

Re: Lots of repairs...Still terrible low end power
Sorry for the confusion. The alternator currently on the bike is a re manufactured one, which is the one with 11.7 volts at idle. I still I have my original bad (overcharging) one, which is currently at an electric shop having the regulator replaced, and I'm hoping putting that back on once fixed wi...

Re: Lots of repairs...Still terrible low end power
Hmm that makes sense, and the bike has does some pretty funky stuff to me haha. With the bike off the battery is at about 12.17 volts, which ive heard is also low. Although wouldn't a faulty battery cause startup issues instead of the ones I'm having? Wouldn't the low charge at idle be caused by a f...

Re: Lots of repairs...Still terrible low end power
I have not checked the EXUP valve yet, been meaning to do that. I took a multimeter to the battery and It's only charging about 11.7 volts at idle and 14.6 once it hits around 4k rpm. So I'm guessing my problem is still electrical and the remanufactured alternator I got is garbage :/ I guess I shoul...

Lots of repairs...Still terrible low end power
Hello all, so I got my 1994 FZR1000 out again this season. Last summer I went through a lot with this bike including carb cleaning/rebuilding/syncing, new battery/remanufactured alternator replacing (The old alternator started overcharging and frying wires), resoldering all the wires it fried, new s...

Re: Overcharging battery, need alternator
I actually think now the alternator I have is fine. It charges until the bike starts to get hot then goes haywire. The bike is also draining batteries just sitting a couple days, and we checked some of the main engine wires and it's making connections places it shouldn't. It must have fried a lot of...

Re: Overcharging battery, need alternator
The motorcycle gods hate me Got the remanufactured alternator on the bike and it was charging low at idle, then fine at revs. Then failed completely. So I need to mail it back to get repaired. My bike has been dead longer than it has been running this summer and now winter is here

Re: Overcharging battery, need alternator
Cool thanks for calming my worries. There was melted wiring right where the alternator wire came out and connected to the bike with the clip, had to solder on the new one. Hopefully should be riding again soon!

Re: Overcharging battery, need alternator
Thanks guys! Thankfully I was able to find a company here in the US that rebuilds them and got one for $200 with a 1 year warranty WOOT . Sadly though I live in Minnesota and winter is approaching :yuck: . On another note, do you think my bike was running screwy because I burned some electrical part...

Overcharging battery, need alternator
Brought my bike to the shop because it was running all wacky. No low end power, sputtering, sometimes would die. Tech found melted wiring and saw that the battery was overcharging, I think something like 15.5-16 volts at rev? Sent my alternator off to get fixed and hopefully they can, but he said th...
