Re: Clutch bite point
Ok having thought about this problem more I will ask about it a different way.. What would need to change or fail in the clutch hydraulic system for the bite point to move to the lever almost fully out position. I don't believe the bike was designed this way or its by default. I believe the clutch m...

So the clutch bite point is high on this bike by default? Master cylinder to slave cylinder ratios incorrect? Will look at FZ lever if all else fails.

Clutch bite point
Anybody else have a high bite point on their clutch ( clutch lever right out before clutch engages).. there is no adjustment on the 87 bike. Changed clutch plates but still high?

Re: Replacing the EXUP
Interesting article on EXUP.... people need to fully understand exhaust systems before ripping out components thinking they will get it to run better... and there's another question, run better for what?? Twenty years ago, Yamaha introduced a landmark technical innovation: the EXUP valve. And nothin...

Re: 88 FZR1000 Stage 3
Are you running a non stock cam? I ran into an interesting situation on mine where after mods including cam and big bore and porting it wanted leaner jets than before. I personally believe it was because the change in velocity in the carbs which was much high so even though there was a smaller jet ...

Re: 88 FZR1000 Stage 3
Yes a bit of clear hose...have the bike as upright as you can and yes, leave the pump on. Connect tube to drain and open drain screw a good few turns. You have +/- 1mm on a nominal of 8.3mm below float bowl line.
