Fairing interchangeability
I have a question regarding fairing interchanging. What years and what bikes will interchange? I need side fairings for my 1992 FZR 600. I have seen that the Chinese make some very nice reproduction fairing sets for the FZR 250 as well as the 400. I don't know if either of those will fit. I am aware...

Re: Fzr 600 woes
I decided to recheck the spark plugs. Back to the basics before I start throwing money at it. They were fouled pretty bad, no doubt from flooding trying to start the motor so much. I put a set of hotter CR8E plugs in it gapped to .032 and it fired right up. It runs better than it did before and I ca...

Re: TRICKS TO SEATING AIRBOX ON CARBS?
With the tank out it was pretty easy. You do have to angle the box back towards the tail of the bike a bit and sort of walk the boots onto the carbs back and forth if your boots are very rigid. So try the back edge first. It might help to take a pair of pliers and try to loosen the boots up and get ...

Re: Fzr 600 woes
I tore the carbs all the way down and cleaned them thoroughly with carb clean as well as 120psi air. The rusty fuel tank was replaced as well, with one that has no rust at all. It has a new oversized fuel filter as well. The plugs are getting quite wet and I can smell gas so I know it isn't fuel del...

Re: TRICKS TO SEATING AIRBOX ON CARBS?
Take the fuel tank out. Leave the boots on / in the air box, and press on over the carb mouths. Make sure you clamp the clamps on the boots all the way down so that sucker doesn't come back off. Then you can put your fuel tank back in and everything else.

Re: Fzr 600 woes
The plugs were wet with fuel and a small amount of carbon. I cleaned them all up and put them back in. It ran for about 5 seconds on 1 or 2 cylinders and it was dead in the water again. Sometimes I can hear the fuel burning in the exhaust or something. So, I have fuel. I am thinking something igniti...

Fzr 600 woes
Short and sweet. Bike hadn't been ridden in a few weeks, maybe a month. Last night I started it. It started hard and felt like it was running on 2 cylinders. I kept it choked and let it run until it reached operating temperature and it began to run fine. Revved it a few times and it blew a little bi...

Re: Back that SUV up!
Yeah im going to have to salvage title it. I dont understand why that is the case but I guess thats the way it works. Ill probably never be able to get rid of it with a rebuilt title. Even though im getting twice what i paid for it AND keeping the bike, Im kind of upset about the whole title thing. ...

Re: Back that SUV up!
I have an update I would like to share. I called the ladies insurance today to see what the holdup is. They informed me that they have considered my bike a total loss! Alarmed I said wait hold up here, it has some minor damage yes but its not totalled! They replied saying because the bike is so old ...

Re: Back that SUV up!
Thanks. It turns out its not a scratch it's a series of bruises. I still dont know what I hit my leg on but its N a big deal. Her insurance blew up my phone today offering to schedule me a doctors appointment at anywhere I choose on them. I thought that was nice of them. I told my insurance I just w...

Back that SUV up!
Pulled up behind a woman in an SUV at a stop sign. I was about 10 feet back with my blinker on to take a right. She pulls out into the intersection like she's going to take off, but then stops. I have just rolled up to the position she was in previously, still between 10-15 feet away. I don't even s...

Re: Getting a weird wind up noise from engine
Mine does the same thing. It's most noticible at lower speeds in 1st and 2nd gear. I just eventually settled on it being a normal sound of these bikes. To me it sounds like transmission synchros.

Re: Just bought 92' FZR 600
I looked up the ladybird bracket. I see what you mean. However, those places trying to charge 20-30 dollars for that bracket are insane. I'm sure that bracket could be made from stuff at Lowes for under 10 dollars.

Re: Just bought 92' FZR 600
Thanks Willandrip. I actually had the same idea. My friend has a 1989ish? Kawasaki ZX7R in his garage and it has a real nice Nissin master cylinder with an external reservoir. It also has adjustable 'effort' I guess you could call it. It will fit my handlebar just fine and it's a 2 wire switch like ...

Re: Just bought 92' FZR 600
I got a nice brake bleeder from my Chrysler tech friend.I also got a bottle of prestone synthetic dot 4 fluid. I tried bleeding the system 3 times on each caliper and replacing any fluid lost with brand new in the master cylinder. I got about 60% of my braking power back... enough to dip the nose do...
