Re: Mess with Idle Screw ?
So I bought a infrared thermometer and can't seem to get the temps synced. I'm getting...
1 - 400° (pilot screw all the way out)
2 - 200° (pilot screw all the way in)
3 - 200° (pilot screw all the way in)
4 - 400° (pilot screw all the way out)
Any reason the outer cyclinders run so hot?

Re: Mess with Idle Screw ?
There's the idle screw (big honking thumbwheel that physically opens / closes the butterflies) and the idle MIX screws, that adjust the mixture of going into the carbs at the bottom end; these are also referred to as the pilot screws. I've read horror stories here about the pilot screws being utter...

Carb Experts
I just bought a used outer right carb for my 600. After installing it onto the quad rack I noticed that my old one had an extra hole on it (circled in red). Looking even closer it looks like the hole runs thru the carb and comes out into the throttle plate (circled in red again). Looking at a ton of...

OEM or aftermarket chain tensioner ?
My chain is super loose. Ordered a new chain and want a new chain cam tensioner too. Should I go with a new factory one or one of those adjustable aftermarket ones?

Mess with Idle Screw ?
I'm rebuilding my carbs now. Should I mess with the idle screw? I'm not having any idle problems but thought about doing this as I'm in there anyways. I drilled and popped out the EPA plugs. All my idle screws are sitting at different positions from the factory and I'm not sure if I should sync them...

I think I broke my carbs. HELP!
I just bought a bike that has been sitting for a long time. Pulled the carbs out to rebuild them, and saw the float bowl screws head were all stripped. So while I using the impact driver to get the screws out, I guess this small brass pipe on the left side broke off. Looks like the both ends broke o...
