1995 FZR600, YZF swing, 17" rear, all the right mods
http://www.trjudd.com/images/fzr1.jpg Now have more bikes than the garage can handle. The dirt bikes and the FZR have to go (FZR more because it's now faster than I am...) Fast and reliable 1995 FZR 600 (new engine build, wheel bearings, etc. - see below) Mods (less than 1k miles since this build):...

Re: need help with jetting.
...is it normal for the brakes to rub a bit on the rotors. Yes. To an extent. Jack it up till the front end's off the ground and spin the wheel. It shouldn't "feel" like it has drag, spin somewhat freely, but you'll hear the pads scraping slightly on the disc. If there's friction you can feel, then...

Re: No clue what I'm doing
First. We must be kin! I've done the same thing in my kitchen (and had to park my old Triumph inside my living room on a large auto oil pan, to keep the bike from getting stolen). Next, Harbor Freight for a cheap multitester (or if you actually have money, go to Grainger and get a Fluke - had mine f...

Re: Early FZR600 oil pipes to oil cooler
Bikes I've worked on (400's and 600's) had a crush washer (hi press oil). What's sealing the other end of the oil line?

Re: BDST 32 carb parts
I have a set of these. Sold a 400 engine that had them, guy didn't want the carbs. If you don't get the new one, shout me up, be glad to send a pilot screw on (they've already been partially parted anyway).

Re: Spark plugs
Someone probably stripped-out their plugs and threaded in coarse ones.
I assume the shop didn't have the same plug #'s as those you removed?

Don..., help??
Hi Don, Bought the BIP373's from Megasquirt and R&R'd them. Now won't run and backfires. Weird. The old (burned) box with the MJE drivers runs the bike fine, swap to this (good) box I swapped-in the 373's into and won't run, tries to, backfires, etc. Can you tell me more about these. If they can be ...

Re: Anyone run a Metzeler 160/60 rear in stock arm/wheel?
you seem very focused on the monstrous difference between a /60 and /70 profile. Don't worry about it so much. And a /70 is NOT going to "pinch" more than a /60 It's not the "pinching," it's the height difference. I ride old-school stuff most of the time (an Enfield Bullet in India, Yam 180 scooter...

Re: Latest rear tire options for FZR600??
What came stock on the 4" rim, 140/70? I know it was a 140 and if 140/70 was stock and you can get it in a decent tire, definitely do that. It was a 140/60. Shinko is it. And for 140/70, there's only a couple of options, but that's more than none. To NOT have a Shinko, but still get a 60 profile, i...

Anyone run a Metzeler 160/60 rear in stock arm/wheel?
Need to tire up some wheels soon and the Metzeler Roadtec Z6 matches the front, but only a 160/60 in 18". If the width of them runs narrow (seems they did when I rode the ME77's way back when), then I might be OK in this arm (unlike an Avon that normally runs wide). There's a Pirelli scorp that's 15...

Is this what yr after? Check out this item I found on eBay: http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=111155116205&alt=web Well..., thanks for the heads-up, but no. That's an R6. Diff from YZF600 (doesn't matter what the auction says, you can see from the wishbone support). Shop near me has one ...

Pirelli Scorpion Trail?
Here's one of the other options, in a 150/70-18 Appears to be a bit "slicker" than a trail tire, but rain sipes. Anyone tried on another bike? http://www.motosport.com/pirelli-scorpion-trail-rear-tire Seems the options are; 150/70 (tall sidewall profile), or 160/60 (pinched on 4" rim), OR..., go bac...

Re: Continental TKC70 Rear Tire for FZR600??
I wanted to avoid going up to 160 myself, but might also have to do that since I can get a Michelin match that way (Pilot 3's front/rear, was going to mis-match a 110/70-17 front Mich Pilot 3 with a 150/70-18 Conti TKC70, pictured above). And Shinko's are in stock most places, of course. The correct...
