Re: front spring upgrade help
Haha, I take it you know them well. And they didn't know, but on that note for some reason the part did get sent back to them, possibly wrong address or something. I know ordering from my phone it likes to put 9th instead of 98th, stupid auto correct. Great service from them! I define tell would ord...

Re: front spring upgrade help
So front spring upgrade will be delayed probably a few month. due to the fact my other bike's engine is totally shot & it has to be running this year, preferably with a turbo. I will update this when any suspension work is done front or rear. Other than that my other suspension parts have arrived, r...

Re: 1988 FZR 1000 Build
Aftermarket hd springs, and stock clutches... stock clutches are hard to find and im not sure which ones interchange. I bought KG 20% stiffer springs, and I think KG makes stock clutches for many companies, but I may not be wrong. That's the direction I would go, I'm sure others will have details on...

Re: needing to vent & help/advice
The motor is completely seized up and i can see rust on the valves that are open. So the whole top end needs to be rebuilt plus the fact why it wouldn't run was never figured out and we'll weather damage on electronics who knowm

Re: needing to vent & help/advice
Oh advice.. get what the bike is worth scrap metal, Wait for a running bike w no tittle usually 1,000 (to much in life projects to sit on 1000), semi local guy has an 85 750 motor that 'spins' 150 bucks. And another guy wants a trade probably think bike is worth more than it is, no tittle and he's t...

Re: fairing repair - hot staples
Yup ebay... 145 bucks plus an extra 30 for extra staples it has and inside and outside 90* ones... well worth it!!!! I stated a new job and brought it to fill up space in my tool box and a just in case... well I broke an interior panel (it happens), because the customer rigged it and bolted it in in...

Re: Vinyl wrapped frame
For 5ft x 5ft of gold chime vvivid it cost me about $38 U.S. but you will also need gloves, non scratching and non static. Though I used a set of gloves from the dollar tree or harbor freight that were soft. You will also need a felt squeegee I recomentadion at least 2 3" or 4" ones about $6-10 from...

Re: 1988 FZR 1000 Build
I may be interested in the complete rear swing arm, with brake arm and such. I just need to pick up my 88, and the guy is being such a pain about it.
And i also have an exup exhaust laying around. But I'm just kinda teasing, because it has to go back on my bike.

Re: HELP
Picture is worth 1000 words. I think we need a couple pictures, or a few thousand words.
Re: HELP
Put a pic of the cdi and wiring harness connectors. I know my 94 fzr1000 will not work in my 88 fzr1000 wiring harness. It is due to the exup valve being adapted. I do not know if any of the mid year boxes are different. If you use the newer exup computer you will need to trick it so it thinks the e...

No problem were here to help, and share our love and joy our bikes give us.That's good to hear! It's always satisfying as hell when you do it yourself. If you have them off do a cleaning. even if it's just a quick cleaning blowing the holes with compressed air.

Re: Vinyl wrapped frame
I was originally going to do the rims too. But I think that will be too much gold chrome. Aswell as it may be more of a pain in the neck to do than I'd like to. Plus I'm bad at cleaning my rims, that tend to get soo dirty and the black hides that nicely. Though I may do the lip. As from what I know,...

Re: Vinyl wrapped frame
This is the first time wrapping anything and was deffinetly a challenge. I used a 5ftx5ft sheet I would recommend going with double that for your first time so you can redo any mess ups instead of having to make them work. Though 5x5 is enough to do everything. Vinyl wrapped frame
So since I decided to overhaul my bike this winter. I had decided I want to make the bike look 'fresh' as well. My choices to the frame were, keep stock, polish, paint (or vinyl) black, vinyl chrome, or gold vinyl chrome. My main goal was being able to go back to stock. And make look nice. I decided...
