Re: 88 FZR1000 Stage 3

I think you should probably look into this after what everyone else is saying also. After the changes to mine the 140 jet turned the swing arm black in a couple of days when i still had my low exhaust.
You can actually see it in my avatar.

Re: Genesis revival

I have been saving for a lathe and mill. Would help out a lot. How much would you change for a set for the fzr? I may be interested if it's less than bearings.

Re: Genesis revival

I like what you did with the washers to seal the bearings. Do you put any seal under them to keep sand and powder out?

Re: 1988 FZR 1000 Build

Apparently they are ok for general road use as they don't really become active until you get the revs up a bit and they tighten up, not tried it yet though. But if the set up you have works then happy days. I didn't know the YZF basket was an upgrade. One of the reasons i joined this forum :thumbsu...

Re: 1988 FZR 1000 Build

I have never seen one of the lock up clutches actually.
But i dont think it would work out too well for road course.
I have a YZF750 basket on an fzr1000 main gear that i have not had any issues with...

Re: 1988 FZR 1000 Build

So its been a while and the FZR got put on the back burner but i am finally getting going on it again.
Just picked up a set of a real full set of Ti valves for the bike as well as race springs and TI retainers.

I used an RC complete tail and rebuilt part of it to bolt to the fzr frame. Check out my build thread.

Re: FZR 1000 Race Engine Build

Hi guys, Corey doesn't usually jump start, if you look in the video the bike beside him jerks forward and that triggers his start.
