FZR400 - won't stay running without booster pack
Hi Guys, I know the battery on my FZR400 is weak (and im getting a new one). I fired it up today using a booster pack on the battery. It started ok, and ran ok until I shut the booster pack off and then it dies immediately. Thoughts? Why does low voltage cause it to stall immediately ? Just the batt...

Re: FZR400 Clutch - first attempt
Yes, it happens both when the bike is running and when its not. ie I have the bike running , pull in th eclutch lever, put it in 1st gear and it jumps and dies, ie just as if i dont have the lever pulled in. ive done that a couple of times but noting broke loose, I figured it best to take it apart a...

FZR400 Clutch - first attempt
Hi all, the next job on the list for the FZR 400 resto is to figure out why the clutch wont disengage (pull the lever and it saty s in gear, or pull the lever and try to engage 1st and it is like you havent pulled the lever in at all) There's what Id deem th enormal amount of resistance when the lev...

Re: New Member
Hi folks, well I finally got all the bodywork prepped for paint, took longer than I planned to get all the decals off and layers of past paint and clear coat off. Some panels were poorly clear coated (good for me as it shaved off fast with a razor blade), some panels had paint over decals, some were...

Re: New Member
Hi, thanks alot for the tip, not used Plastex, just Q-Bond. I've used the welding technique many times before and im pretty comfortable with it, my personal experience with Q-bond is it does indeed work well for clean break cracks, but when there are chunks completely missing (like I have) the abs w...

Re: New Member
Well, i got the decal package sent off to the Decal guy. This invovled making a tracing of every decal on the bike, followed by shaving off every decal with a razor blade and packaging it all up. The tracings are necessary because the decals often get their shape distorted in the process of getting ...
