Update: The bike is now running!! The floats were set way too low, so i raised them up to 24mm (measuring from the edge of the carb bowl to the highest corner of the float). I'm not too sure what the float valve height is. Is there a way to check this? They looked to be in good condition when I took the carbs apart.

Mileage is 43k. A full rebuild sounds expensive! But I'm sure it's worth it.

Quick update from trying to start the bike again today. Managed to get it running very roughly once again for a couple of seconds after adjusting the air/fuel mix screw right down to 1 turn out. Nope, not yet. I've been away but am going to have another crack at it tomorrow.

I've leaned the air/fuel mixture out a bit and tried to start it a couple of times to no joy. Battery is currently being charged off the bike and I'll see if that affects anything when I try tomorrow.
