Re: Stator and pick-up help!

otori2013 Like Don said your faulty "pick up coil" WILL cause a no spark scenario. The Stator Windings and the VRR merely charge the battery. Unfortunately Yamaha don't sell the pick up coil separately, They sell the Stator and Pick Up Coil as a package. That said your pick up coil if showing infini...

Re: Stator and pick-up help!

What do u mean "a no spark condition and a bad pick-up coil" The pick up is not the cause of no spark? I have done the "no spark? Now what" page and checked everything else.. Taken from the "No spark? Now what" page Unplug the left 4-pin or 8-pin connector, if present. Check for resistance between ...

Re: Stator and pick-up help!

Please give us a clue! Why are you testing the stator windings, what problems are you having?

BTW you haven't tested the pick up coils resistance, the pick up coil has a two pin connector that comes out of the stator cover, factory spec for the pick up coil is 80-120 ohms

Re: STiLL won't start lots of details

hi, Mikey, thanks for the response! I'll write that into my haynes book. I have read that post but didn't think it applies here, since I have spark!! You have fuel and spark, I'm thinking tight valves and low compression may be the issue. Yours has done 23k I believe the valves should be adjusted a...

Re: STiLL won't start lots of details

1992 fzr with 23K miles Using a Haynes manual. 1. CARBS . cleaned out carbs, jets, etc. Blasted all paths with cleaner and air. Everything clear! Reset float heights to 23mm. PO had them really low. All fuel mixture screws set to 3 turns out. PO had them at 7. Bench synced with guitar string No mis...

Re: Charging Issues on FZR 600

where exactly does the stator cable plug into everything?? I am assuming up to the R/R which I believe is on the left side of the bike in the tail by the brake light?? If someone could confirm that for me. Does the stator cover need a gasket or sealant?? Any help anyone could provide would be great...

Re: looking at a 91, cranks but doesn't start.

Yeah, I don't know what's going on. It actually belongs to his brother, who apparently is somewhat worthless. So he may be a scheister. You actually answered you own question, that bike could be a money pit. It's known that an over charging VRR can kill all of the electronics resulting in $700 just...

Re: Streetfighter headlight

Looks like 2 Males and 1 Female to me, the White(Top) Male connector should plug into the Clutch switch, it's on the clutch perch (where the clutch lever is).

Re: Streetfighter headlight

Thanks for the reply, so to attach one headlight, do I jus ditch one side off wires or combine them for a single headlight? Well parking light wires are all over the shop and no longer have the correct colouring, also found 2 wires, blue/yellow, black/yellow on each but only 1 other one for them to...

Re: Streetfighter headlight

Hi, I'm looking into a streetfighter headlight, problem is I have 2 lights, one for main and one for parking, the parking one is jus a bodge job of led strips which previous owner fitted. But is there anyway to convert them to a single headlight rather than 2? Or will I blow a fuse with a simple jo...

Re: aftermarket tci

You can safely advance the ignition timing by 5 Degrees through out the timing curves on an aftermarket TCI. Read this in the WIKI. http://fzronline.com/wiki/doku.php?id=ignition_advance I did that mod over 2 years ago. No pinging or detonation knock, but a lighter front wheel, faster acceleration. ...

Re: aftermarket tci

ok soooo looking even more into it turns out i do not need a tps(though it would make everything work so much better and part throttle power would be amazing). It has features to run a rpm based timing map.....now my next biggest issue is i have no idea what the timing map would be. I can easily fi...

Re: Fzr starting issue

Yes I meant woudlnt, sorry I'm using my phone. For the starter fluid I just spray it down the throats on top and then try to start it? Or do it when it's trying to turn over ? Never ever spray starter fluid down the carbs whilst trying to start an engine! If you get a backfire out of the carbs you ...

Re: looking at a 91, cranks but doesn't start.

Still haven't got it running yet. Apparently both lights were in fact burned out. They are awaiting a new ignation module. I would say my chances of buying the bike are slim, as they will probably want to recoop the price of the parts they put on, bringing the bike up to over a grand. They back nee...
