Re: FEELER - FZR400/683
Where in Ontario? I'm actually heading to Kingston for a couple of months mid-April, that could work.

Re: FEELER - FZR400/683
Sounds good - now I know. =) I appreciate the feedback, it's what I was looking for.
So I could only reasonably get 3000$ for this bike? Might as well keep it, then - for all the blood, sweat and tears...for what it's worth, it is a clean title and everything.

FEELER - FZR400/683
OK, so I just finished building it, and I'm actually considering selling it... My original idea was to have something that was somewhat of a modernized FZR visually, without attempting to make it something it's not looks-wise. Also, it had to have a definite sleeper element - hence the FZR400 boldly...

Re: DAMN!!!
Rage/Sweekster : This is indeed very helpful. I had not thought of checking YZF600r.com (but God knows I was there a LOT when I was running my YZF600 engine), BUT - the only thing is, I'm running a FZR400, so we might not be running the same mirror bases to begin with (I know the mirrors are differe...

Re: DAMN!!!
Rage : and those were bolt-on?
Sweekster : I did! Maybe my search string was wrong? I searched for "replacement mirror", "aftermarket mirror" and ....something else, I can't remember...=)

Re: DAMN!!!
Popawilly,
Thanks, that's EXACTLY the kind of info I was looking for. But, can we confirm the year? 95 is the last year of that generation (mirrors listed go for 1988-1995, then 1996-2000, I think - it varies a bit depending on displacement).
Thanks!

Re: DAMN!!!
Finch : you wouldn't lose if you had bet that. =) This is actually Xian's engine. Fully built, but a joy to ride on the street. I'll top-gear pull on R6s and 600RRs any day, and up to 240 km/h (where I redline), I'm pretty close to them in an all-out acceleration match. They start pulling away sligh...

Re: DAMN!!!
To George : Yeah, I've already got the emulators, just the Progressive springs which I'm not too crazy about. Thanks for the link. Seems like 0.85 is the way to go for me, I'll call Race-Tech and confirm. So, a few ideas for mirrors. Wasn't there somebody with YZF600 mirrors too? I'll also want to t...

Re: DAMN!!!
Yeah, I actually removed that part of my question, as I just saw All Balls makes some tapered ones too. Too easy.

DAMN!!!
OK, so I was JUST going to show you guys pictures of my totally completed FZR400/683. I just picked it up from the painters this Tuesday. So, buddies and I go for a ride today, and I let my friend have a rip at her while I ride his R6 (2000). We hit some clover leafs, and all of a sudden I don't see...

Re: YZF Fuel Sensor to FZR Tank...?
So - to the person who earlier suggested bolting the sensor to a plate, and welding that plate to the tank - any restrictions with welding with gas fumes present? Should I fill the tank with something (water..., or something else, don't know), or are we good to go to just empty it and start welding?...

Re: YZF600 Fuel Pump
Well, the reason it would work in 3rd/4th gear but not in 5th/6th is that, in the lower gears, because of the bike's acceleration, it will only hold WOT for - what...5 seconds or so...?...whereas you need to be in 6th gear to be at WOT for longer than that. This would seem to indicate that the fuel ...

Re: YZF600 Fuel Pump
OK. That's what I thought too (wrt the pumps and differences between them). So, how about this - anybody ever compare a FZR400 and FZR600 fuel pump side-by-side? Part numbers are different, but what is the actual differences between them? Is the piping actually biggger, is the flow actually increase...
