Re: 1991 fairing on a 1990

I did that conversion myself. Although I modified it quite a bit. I was looking for the Honda NR750 look and put Piaa projector beam lights in the vent holes, fiberglassed over the stock headlight hole and rerouted the vents to below where the headlight used to be. Lots of work, but I was pleased wi...

No guage lights

No blown fuses. All other lights work. But the lights for temp, tach, and speed do not work. I cannot imagine all three bulbs would have gone at once. Have not pulled gauges to inspect yet. Was hoping for an "oh yeah! That's a _________ issue." answer.

Re: Mikuni main jet questions

Not exactly sure what was causing the problem, but I put a different set of carburetors on with stock main jets and stock needles. The bike ran great, but I know in need to go up on the mains from 107.5 to either 110 or 112.5's. I have stock air box and a full Vance & Hines Supersport exhaust. Shoul...

Re: Mikuni main jet questions

I'm trying to figure out why my bike is acting the way it is. It accelerates awesome, but once I stop accelerating, it feels like it is, for lack of a better term, loading up. The exhaust tone starts getting choppy. If I give more throttle everything smooths out and the exhaust sounds smooth again.

Mikuni main jet questions

I ordered some 112.5 main jets. Is there a performance difference between the"large main jet", and the "small main jet" if they are both 110 or 112.5 etc.?

I have the "large main jets" and they are larger in diameter than the stock ones.

Re: FZR compatible rear shocks

I put a shock off of a '94 GSXR 600 on my fzr. Had to radius the lower connection point. Also had to machine a spacer for the eye at the top of the shock. I like the way it raised the rear of the bike.

GP500 windscreen

Does anyone with a '92 FZR600 have the GP500 Double bubble windscreen? I am interested in getting one, but would like to see a picture of one installed. Thanks!

Re: No Shift

GREAT NEWS! After perusing the Yamaha shop manual, I decided to pull the clutch cover off and inspect the opposite end ofthe shift shaft to see if there was anything obviously out of place. And right away noticed that the return spring was not positioned correctly, both ends of the spring were on on...

Re: No Shift

I bought it from a guy who bought it as a parts bike that was running at the point when it was stored. I believe we had to put it into neutral when we loaded it into the truck. But I have never ridden it. Also, I have another motor that has a bad head, but good transmission, how labor intensive is i...

No Shift

After installing a new chain and sprockets on my project bike, I noticed that the front sprocket spins freely. The bike is in neutral, so I didn't think much about it. But when I tried to take it out of neutral, the shift shaft going into the motor would not move. I can yank on the shifter up and do...

Re: Blue dots for fzr600

OK I am confused. I have what I thought was a '90 600. That's what my original owners manual and my title says. I bought a set of blue dots to replace the 2piston stock calipers. But the bolt spacing is narrower on my stock calipers than the blue dots.

Re: Neutral light not working

Thank you !

No squirrels found. Just a bunch of chain lube residue, grit, and crap.

Cleaned out and light works.
