Re: Tire questions....again.

OK, good info here......

Thinking I'll go with an Avon AV56 in 150/70R/18 for the rear and Avon AV55 in 120/70R/17 for the front.

This to me looks like the right sizes.......Am I good here?

Re: Tire questions....again.

As of 4 months ago, there was a shortage of the 150 from Bridgestone so you may want to call a store and check first instead of ordering online. That's why I held off for awhile before ordering tires, as I had read that was the case. I all honesty I could probably go with a sport/touring tire as I ...

Re: Tire questions....again.

liken the avatar.. he he, thanks. I wouldn't mind either three of them in my stable.... I found some BT-014's on cyclegear.com, but thought I'd ask if there wasn't something I had missed. funny, I was checking out tires unlimited and they said the BT-016's were replacements for the BT-014's so I wa...

Tire questions....again.

Sorry to bring this up for those in the know, but I'm a little confused and don't want to spend money on something I have to return. I'm looking for new rubber, and the old 150's that were on the rear of the bike aren't made anymore. (1993 600FZR) With my stock wheels can I run a Bridgestone BT-016 ...

Re: Yamaha Papercraft

Thanks for the tips finch. I plan on getting into this as soon as the snow flies, which should be in about another month. Many projects around the house right now getting ready for winter, one being getting a gas heater hung and the gas lines ran so I can have a heated shop this winter. Then it time...

Re: Who is ready for DEER Season?

I have not been hunting for the last few years, but its due to the war zone setting that evolves here when shotgun season starts. For one, I live in the town the Louvsten buck was taken a couple of years ago, and madness has ensued since then. Seems everyone able to carry a gun comes to this area to...

Yamaha Papercraft

Hey all, I just ran across this site that looks pretty cool. It seems there are different models of Yamaha bikes modeled in paper that you can download and create, sort of like origami. I haven't downloaded a model yet, but it should be something cool to check out in the coming winter months. From w...

Re: Reminder to BE CAREFUL

First of all I feel for your loss and the family of the young man that abruptly lost his life. As a parent I can't imagine having to bury a child, but serving in Iraq left me having to bury close friends and that was hard enough. When I was younger I was bulletproof and had the mindset I was going t...

Re: Stock windscreen color

If it was me I'd take it to court if you get a ticket and let the magistrate decide your fate. The reason I say this is due to the contradictory nature of laws and ordinances that are sometimes apparent when you look at a code section at face value. For instance, in Iowa, the 321 code restricts the ...

Re: Intake leak - could I have burned rings?

Not much experience in this area, but did the idle return to normal? I would run it a little and pull a plug to see if there is any difference between the others or a difference from before... I think you would be OK without any damage caused, but I would have to check myself to get it out of my min...

Re: all the Seafoam information you'll ever need

This is an awesome thread to say the least! This backs up all he good Ive ever head about Seafoam. I've used it in an old jeep that would bearly idle, and after 1/3 pint down the carb it idles like (almost) new. Well, for a 20 year old Jeep it runs pretty good. I've used it as a fule stabilizer for ...

Re: Battery Tender

I've had a Battery Tender for years and think its some of the best money I've spent. Here in the winter if I catch a nice day all I have to do is unhook the quick disconnect and away I go. Totally worth the ease of not having to take the battery out, store it inside, and then hope the charge held ov...

Re: How Far do you ride?

George,I had a feeling you weren't scared of putting some miles on you bike. I can see where 2-up and packing gear would leave to issues regarding room. I plan on having a single seat for any rides on the fizzer. I have a cruiser for long distance two-up riding, and have logged about 60K in the last...
