Re: cluster light bulbs...

So am I right in thinking that the LED ones from that site will just screw in without needing to do any soldering or anything?

Re: Brake reservior mounting revised (PICS!)

Finally met the unheard of conditions whereby it wasn't raining and I had a day off, so managed to put the reservoir on. Here are some pics. Seems ok, so thanks once again for all the help! Now I need to find out why the bike won't turn over. AA man says it's the timing. I used the ladybird style br...

Re: How serious an issue is this?

Oh man, I seriously thought that side was the clutch. I was studying the Haynes manual all night about it. Such a total noob. Remote reservoir I'm still waiting for the mounting bracket from the US, but I got the thundercat MC and reservoir fitted and bled, so it shouldn't be a hassle to just clip t...

Re: How serious an issue is this?

Here's the front view of the clutch cover, and it's the bottom right bolt that's missing. Sorry, should have made that more clear. (Although the image is displaying rotated 90ccw for no good reason). Good news about the JB weld, that's given me some hope. I've got to push the bike to a garage next w...

Re: How serious an issue is this?

Should I just try and get the place I bought it from to take it back or what? Is this a widespread issue? I feel so angry that I was sold a 'working bike' and I haven't been able to run it for one reason or another over three months.

How serious an issue is this?

At the moment everytime I sort something out, I find two more problems! This is the back right part of the clutch cover and the engine housing it bolts into, snapped away. Do I need to buy a whole new engine to sort it? Or can I get someone to patch it somehow? Or is it just not a problem at all? ht...

Re: R6 brakes

Finally got some pressure through the system! The new thundercat MC was way better. It's still really spongey, but I guess when I go to bleed it again tonight it'll start to tighten up. Just waiting on a new reservoir and reservoir mount and then I'll add them at the same time as the new calipers. S...

Re: Brake reservior mounting revised (PICS!)

First of all Willandrip, AMAZING COLLECTION! You must have a very understanding missus! Secondly, thanks for letting me know about mushrooms - I'll try and get some sorted soon. It's my first bike so I know the chances are relatively high that I'll slip out and ruin the plastics at some point. Third...

Re: Brake reservior mounting revised (PICS!)

Willandrip, that's super helpful and plain English - really hope I can be as helpful to somebody else in the future! And thanks for making me believe in the bike again when I was starting to think I should have gone SR500 cafe like my friends! How do you get those crash bobbins on the frame? Just ex...

Re: Brake reservior mounting revised (PICS!)

Really really helpful, thanks! I did purchase the linked master cylinder. I remember jamming the stock MC real hard out of frustration when the brakes started locking, so maybe I shot the seals on it? Anyway, this new one should help sort it. I took the calipers apart and cleaned them as per the wik...

Re: Brake reservior mounting revised (PICS!)

I like the first one, nice and out of the way. No problems from the reservoir being lower than the MC? Or is that just the way it looks?

Re: Brake reservior mounting revised (PICS!)

sweekster, do you have any more pics of your mounting bracket? Was it hard to fabricate? Did you ever have any problems from the bent tube or anything?

Re: R6 brakes

Say I'd just purchased that MC on impulse, how would I go about fitting the reservoir mount? IS there a better or more specific search term I can use than reservoir mount? I can't find any good topics on here that cover it in the depth that someone like me would need! Ideally I'd like not to have to...

Re: R6 brakes

Great advice man! I'm totally clueless right now so making a lot of mistakes, this has really helped me out. Great looking bike as well! Hope mine will be as nice as that soon.
