Re: Genesis rebuild
Here's a before and after comparison: http://i1104.photobucket.com/albums/h326/nevawaz/Genesis/c8786b6b-4450-43e7-b9f2-389118feaa32_zps0cdcf078.jpg The engine runs well but has an oil leak which I need to track down still. The gearbox is also really stiff, which I'm hoping will loosen up with use. A...

Have you tried your local yamaha dealer? They still can get most parts for the genesis.

Re: Genesis rebuild
As usual life gets in the way of working on the bike, so I still havent had a chance to sort the clutch issues out. I have mounted the tank and left side fairing in the interim though, and this is how she looks: http://i1104.photobucket.com/albums/h326/nevawaz/Genesis/31bd548a-cb7a-42c7-8fff-010035f...

Re: Genesis rebuild
Surprisingly I haven't picked up any issues with the wiring at all. I was expecting some given its age.

Re: Genesis rebuild
Hi,
The torque settings are 10nm for the cam caps and 37nm for the head.
What problems are you having with the timing marks? Do you just want the procedure for setting the timing?

Re: Genesis rebuild
Hi, thanks fo the compliments. I really admire the work you have done with your fighter, it looks stunning. The timing chain was a little stretched but still within the useable limits. The bike has done 60 000km,so I changed it for my own peace of mind. Now I know that I wont have to open the engine...
