Agree. Looks great now. But the red tuning forks or red "YAMAHA" on the tank cover would really tie in that red.GreyImport wrote:
That looks just great......red tuning forks on the tank would finish it off

Re: This will be the slowest build thread in history!!!
What the hell?!? That bike is turning out great! :duh: Need some better pics though... good work Thanks. It's getting there. I'll have to drag it out of the garage and get some better shots of it, with something other than an iphone, once I figure out how to mount that silly headlight. Looking very...

Re: This will be the slowest build thread in history!!!
You have no idea how messy I am. I work in a messy environment until I'm done with something. Then I clean up and start all over. As for "straight off the assembly line"... It looks a little rough in person. It's a 20 footer for sure. The paint worked out great. But the body work on the "homemade" s...

Re: This will be the slowest build thread in history!!!
Well... Here it is. I kinda went nuts with the decals. But, who cares? I could have put a bunch of Hello Kitty stickers on it and it would have looked better than when I bought it. I used ColorRite aerosol paint. I read several mixed reviews about how ell it would match and figured, screw it. I'm ve...

Re: This will be the slowest build thread in history!!!
Finally got to a point where I'm happy with the tail. Well, to be honest, I got to a point where I just couldn't take it. I HATE sanding and doing body work. Mostly because it requires so much patience and time. But also because I'm terrible at it. But, it was either do it myself, or spend like 210 ...

Re: '92 FZR 600, anyone try different gauges?
This one is the one I got. It's a generic kit for conventional forks. I got the black one (stealth). http://www.trailtech.net/product8157.html This is the Dashboard. http://www.trailtech.net/022-PDA.html Unfortunately, you can't used the wiring harness for some of the idiot lights. Some of them use ...

Re: This will be the slowest build thread in history!!!
Update: It's getting there. It's not going to be perfect. I'm not exactly a wiz with body work. But, I think it'll serve it's purpose and I'll be happy with it. Hoping to have all the sanding and filling and sanding and filling and sanding and filling and sanding and filling.... done tonight. Ready ...

P.S. I refuse to respond further until we see some PICS! Let's see this two wheeled beauty you're workin' with. I know we've all seen FZRs before. Hell, we own them. But we still wanna see everyone else's.

Re: Need fairing help!!!
FYI, a quick search of the site will yield pages upon pages of information dealing with this exact question. That being said... You don't have to use any specific tank, as they aren't connected, in any way, to the fairing. The question is how well that tank is going to match up to the the FZR frame....

Re: '92 FZR 600, anyone try different gauges?
Have a look at the Trail Tech Vapor. I had one on my last bike and now have one on my FZR. I really like this gauge. Easy to install, small enough to mount wherever you want, and it's got all the functions you need. Plus, with the little "dashboard" you can pick and choose different dummy lights so ...

Re: Options for exhaust applications for my FZR600
I have a D&D in great shape that I'm considering selling. It sound great. But, I just don't like how long it is. I was gonna cut it down. But it's such a sweet sounding can that I'd rather let someone else enjoy it and find something else. But, then I'd have to find something else and my bike would ...

Re: Need fairing help!!!
Agreed I swapped the tail on mine to a 99 R6 tail and it was very easy. The costs involved are minimal, if you can find a tail in decent shape for cheap. One thing to think about is the tank. I've seen a few pictures and videos of FZRs with updated R6 plastics on them. Most were done really well and...

Re: Screws and Restrictor Cone
Agree, agree, and agree. I ALWAYS ride as if everyone in a cage is trying to kill me. And, guess what, some of them probably are. At least, it seems that way. Loud pipes only piss off the neighbors and draw attention to the rear of your bike, since that's the point of view of those who will hear it....

Re: This will be the slowest build thread in history!!!
OK, so a while back, I posted a picture of a solo seat cowl that I was making. I kinda let that project fall by the wayside as other parts started rolling in and have just now thought about getting back on it. I've decided that instead of making it removable, I'm going to just attach it permanently ...

Re: This will be the slowest build thread in history!!!
Been doing some cosmetic damage control. I went over the tail piece with a palm sander, prepped, and shot it with some rattle can gloss black and a gloss clear. I actually used the Dupli Color wheel clear coat. That stuff works really well. Dries super fast and you can sand it in a few hours, if you...
