I would consider a destroked R6 engine. Reliable, fuel injection, more HP. Just depends on your budget but they seem to be fairly cheap to build. There has been a lot of talk about them on the WERA forum lately.

I never did get rid of this project and I haven't been able to put any time or money into making it happen. I want to sell it as a whole if possible. Anybody interested? Sorry to post something other than an FZR, but at least it's a Yamaha, right... Hate to do it, but I have to get my life in order... My 2003 YZ450 is for sale. $3500 gets you everything... I have just built the engine and it has less than two hours on it. 4 sessions at Pensecola and 2 10 minute sess...

I think I'm ready to sell the FZR project. 88 400 frame (clean title), R1 front end (2000 model I think, front wheel has a ding), GSXR 4.5 in rear , Works shock (needs rebuild), aluminum subframe (& an R1 subframe that I was going to mod to fit), FZR600 bottom end, FZR600 cylinders & pistons, YZF600...

Kinda looks a lot like an OWO1 swinger in black.

That bike is for sale on the WERA board, BTW...
