cmsnl prices are the same as here in the UK for piston rings...ive just bought 4 along with a top of other parts http://www.cmsnl.com/yamaha-fzr1000-exup_model16740/ they should do shipping to norway. if you replace the rings get the barrels honed to allow the rings to bed in properly. you might wan...

plug #1 (the leftmost one) looks rich, the middle two look fine, the right hand one might even look a tad lean - ceramic looks quite white, they should be a nice tan colour like the middle two.

Re: 1988 carburetor diagnosis
tight inlet valves can also cause you to blow fuel vapour upwards if you dont have air being forced into the cylinders...i would check you valve clearances, inlets especially. as for the fuel leaking its either what don said - knackered fuel float, or your floats are set too high so they dont have a...

Re: 1040 build, which exhaust and intake?
the 1040cc kit means you are pulling in 3.79% more air than before...i think the airbox can cope with this engorging process.

Re: Exhaust valves, where to buy em
i have lapped all of mine in now, you need to do it until solvent doesnt leak around the valve face...and repeat x20 :D then give it a damn good clean, you dont want any bits of lapping grit getting into places where it isnt ment to be. at the same time, replace all of the valve stem oil seals for n...

FZR 600 mirrors...
hi guys, i have a zxr400 and i want to fit white mirrors to it, but i cant find any in stock anywhere for less than £120 for the pair! so i dont think that these would look too bad from a fzr 600 (they are round, whereas the zxr ones are square, but i can always re-sell if i dont like them in a few ...

my 1989 strainer looks like this:- http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v633/Banner001/2013-03-06231353_zps111430e8.jpg there are o-rings where the pipes enter the engine, but no gaskets. the actual strainer is clipped onto the main metal housing, and can be removed. you cannot remove the metal mesh as...

new valves will also require at least lapping, possibly need all the valve seats re-cutting as well.

Re: Exhaust valves, where to buy em
when i get mine back from being refaced (middle of next week) ill post up the lengths.
from memory all exhaust valves are the same length, and the 125mm length seems way too long, even for the middle intake valve...

Re: Intake restriction? 89 EXUP
carb intake restrictors (on most bikes) go somewhere between the bottom of the carbs and the engine intake rubbers. on the zxr they are washers that are placed just underneath the carb inlet rubbers. the snorkels job is (i think) to smooth out the airflow entering the airbox so that its all laminar....
