Re: headlight to cage mount? throttle cables

The shapes and attachment points of 1000 and 750 airboxes are different. Couldn't find a better comparison pic than ebay listings: http://www.ebay.ie/itm/YAMAHA-FZR750-GENESIS-1989-STANDARD-AIR-BOX-/231734782301?hash=item35f478295d:g:pY4AAOSw0JpV3dm7 http://www.ebay.ie/itm/89-95-Yamaha-FZR-1000-used...

Re: Need some help

Get parts catalogs from here:
http://www.exup1000.co.uk/tech/fzr1000r/index.html
http://www.exup1000.co.uk/tech/fzr1000ru/index.html

Because of swapped engine, you probably need both...

Check if any of the critical (more expensive) bits are missing.

Re: Need some help

Frame and fairings seem to be '89-'90, but engine seems to be '91+ (judging only based on oil filter and its base). Seems quite badly messed up, not just torn apart.

Re: stupid question please help

According to the wiring diagram in the Wiki: http://fzronline.com/wiki/lib/exe/fetch ... iagram.jpg

Colors are bad, but seems Black+Brown+Red/Blue for one side and Black+Green+Red/Blue other side. All should be single pin bullet connectors...

Re: Is this an 89 EXUP rim?

It looks like a 89-90 FZR1000 rim. Also by the amount of weights it looks like you should have the wheel at least checked for straightness, likely straightened.

Re: Rear Tyre

Somewhere on the wheel (either spoke or rim) it should say something like:
- J 17x5.50 DOT
- J 18x4.50 DOT

For FZR1000 Exup most tyre manufacturers recommend 120/70R17 + 180/55R17 (stock sizes are 130/60R17 + 170/60R17) even though some 180 tyres scrub on the swingarm chain cover.

Re: Headlight

You could: - Buy a decent set of halogen lightbulbs (does it have one or two lightbulbs?), I got decent Osram Nightbreaker bulbs last year. - Take a look at the glass, lens and reflector when the bulbs are out - is it dusty? Clean it with very mildly soapy water, possibly a soft microfiber cloth (no...

Re: Throttle

Mechanically both cables operate on pulling. "Push" cable only refers to "pushing" the throttle grip. Exactly the same way the Exup servo operates on pull-pull. Random illustrations from the web, I'm not near my bike: http://3dd44a772fa064cf0014-6b6013899f707c7786018cc08fbda1d4.r80.cf1.rackcdn.com/T...

Re: Throttle

Shouldn't the return cable actually be there to speed up butterfly closing if you actually bother to twist the throttle closed instead of removing your hand from the handlebar.

Re: headlight to cage mount?

No air should go to the hollow frame, this should be prevented by a rubber grommet and all the air from the air tubes should exit in the general vicinity of the airbox.

Why would you want to remove the battery?
